McGard 65315BK SplineDrive Black Cone Seat Lug Nuts (M14 x 1.5 Thread Size) Set of 4

If you have a set of aftermarket rims and McGard lug nuts then having a matching locking nut is a no brainer. McGard offers a SN# for the lock socket and sticker for you to place in/on vehicle in case you ever need to reorder one. Nice plastic sleeve to keep sockets protected and together. Thought I would prefer to have all matching lug nuts and not have one odd looking one, but I hardly notice the one locking lug nut and have the peace of mind that my wheels will stay where I leave them.

Work well. I bought three other locks before these. All the others were cheap crap. These seem stronger.

Bought these to replace my horrible McGard locking lug nuts that fell apart on my tundra. Strange that the same company sells convenient replacements.

I like the spline drive and the fact that the cone seat turns separate from the driven portion of the nut. It acts as a washer under the nut to help protect the wheel and to provide consistent clamping force with a given torque. The negatives here are due to the paint. It is of inconsistent thickness, so the tool does not fit well on some nuts. Once the tool scrapes off the paint, you have NOT scraped down to a chrome plating, you've scraped down to bare steel. Which rusts at the least provocation. You WILL have rusty nuts after the first rain. I would imagine salt on the road would make this much worse.

The only concern about it if I'm not wrong I believe the set of locks has to come with the key for tight them up. Am i wrong? This one didn't bring it.. So I don't have anything to tight them up.
