Avalon A12 Countertop Bottleless Water Dispenser, 3 Temperatures, Self Cleaning, Stainless Steel

I had my doubts when my husband chose this brand and model. But after nearly a year of use, I wonder how I used to get by without this. The taste is superior, and it's quite cost efficient. One downside is cold water drains pretty quickly after filling our 32 oz cups, and takes a while to refill. But if you use a regular glass or smaller cups, it shouldn't be a problem. Personally I don't use the hot water on this unit because my insulated electric kettle does such a great job that I simply don't need the function. But the hot water setting does work as well. Filters can be purchased at a 15% discount in Avalon if you subscribe. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

10 out of 10 I don’t know how we lived without this thing before now. Literally use the hot water to make coffee, grits ,oatmeal ,mashed potatoes. You name it. The cold water is ice cold like you don’t even need the ice it’s the perfect temp. The middle button, which is the room temperature is Actually room temperature and not cold. I have a husband with sensitive teeth. He will only drink room temperature or water. This thing is a blessing in disguise. Very well worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone that has a household that consumes a lot of water. I was purchasing eight cases of water a week from stores before we bought this.

Don’t buy this. The item is a great idea but poorly made. That’s not the worst part. The worst part is Avalon customer support. My water cooler broke after 6 months of moderate use. Stopped making the water cold. Customer support it was because I was using the wrong filters, which I wasn’t but they had “high efficiency” filters they assured would fix the problem. Nope. The COLD water coming out warm at best. They told me they would “warranty replace” but first o had to send them a photo of the unit with its cord cut. I did so, leaving me with no filtered water at all, at least when the machine was broken I had filtered water albeit warm. They said “we’ll ship it out 1-2 days after you send the cut cord photo” well, I cut that cord 3 weeks ago. They never sent it. They made a label, but never shipped out the item. The product is bad; the company is AWFUL. Don’t waste your money.

Nice piece of gear. A couple of days after I had it hooked up by a licensed plumber, I experienced a leak. Maybe a gallon of water on the floor, but no clues where it came from because the leak stopped. A week or so later, the same thing happened and again, nothing apparent. I called the manufacturer and they were very helpful (got a live person almost immediately). We tried a couple of things but nothing seemed to address the issue, however, I've had no problems in the last couple of months and it works perfectly. Replacement filters a quite expensive.

Save your money BY protecting this item. BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN!!! I purchased model # a12-ctpou. I bought this thinking it was the best to buy a “better brand” AND I got the newer model. Keep in mind i’ve only had it for two years it just hit two years last month . I called Avalon and they made me do a process where you clean the tank with citric acid crystals because the hot water stopped coming out hot and the cold water was literally freezing the tank so a big ice cube was in the tank. Therefore it would stop dispensing water until I unplugged it and the ice cube melted which took a couple days Because of the insulation it has. Once I did that I called back and of course they created a case number they asked when I had purchased the item and they saw that the warranty was only for a year worth of coverage. Keep in mind that They did say this was super rare for it to happen because I don’t know if you guys but I’ve never heard of anyone’s water dispenser freezing the water. Overall we came to the conclusion that it was the thermostat but then again it was a $300 item so therefore it was something defective but it wasn’t a common issue Therefore they need to fix that as a company. Anyway I had to call Amazon because that’s who I originally purchased fromand thankfully they reminded me that I had a protection plan but save your money and don’t buy this model or do your research some more or buy the protection plan to cover your a**. It a f***** water dispenser it shouldn’t last 2 years.

Works great for 4 months in, no leaking or anything to complain about. Super low maintenance, and filters last a long time.

I got my first unit back in 2022. Within a year the compressor was making loud noises and not cooling. Avalon replaced it under warranty but the replacement was worse. They sent me a 3rd unit. After a few months the nozzle came off and it would spray water everywhere. I asked for a replacement nozzle but instead they sent me a whole new unit. (maybe refurb, not sure) Now the 4th unit is making all kind of noise and I need to smack it to get it to be quiet. I tried adjusting the radiator on the back but it didn't help. I think I'm out of warranty now. But 4 units in 3 years tells me their quality control is poor. Don't expect it to last much longer than the 1 year warranty. Mine luckily had a longer warranty before they changed their policy. UPDATE 9/11/25: Unit number 4 is not having a thermostat problem. It would stop dispensing and the cold chamber would freeze solid. But, there customer service is pretty good and they offered to send me another unit. I am definitely out of warranty, but they sent me a brand new unit yesterday to replace the one that was loud with thermostat problems. So far it has worked great and I hope they fixed their quality control issues. I am changing to 3 stars since although I have had problems with the product, the customer service has taken care of me.
