This is the 3rd or 4th time we have purchased this filter in the last 3 years, some had to be returned since we were not able to twist open the tightly closed outside steel cover to remove the internal packing before the first use.Anyway, although we haven't tested the water samples before and affter inatalling this filter but since in all the previous cases after 5-7 months of use, the water flow in the shower got significantly reduced indicating that the heavy metals and chlorine had blocked the filter so I assume it must have been doing its job. Hence, I purchased it again
