Roku Streaming Stick HD — HD Streaming Device for TV with Roku Voice Remote, Free & Live TV

I am so happy now I accidentally lost my Roku remote. I set out to just buy another Roku remote, but it was cheaper just to buy this. To my surprise, this is much much more upgraded!!! I have way more channels and apps than I did before and I had a TON! No exaggeration. (And I still have cable tv which I can cancel with this. I was nervous as I wasn’t sure what I’d be limited to). Wildly, to my surprise, my picture quality has gotten even better. There’s no lagging when watching football or sports on any of the apps like I do on my more expensive TVs throughout my house (after getting rid of cable boxes & using the apps via cable. This has no issues & I don’t even need cable. Why this doesn’t lag and my expensive smart tvs do, no idea). I am literally blown away and so glad I made this purchase and it was less expensive than replacing a lost remote. Beyond beyond happy. I would suggest this over my Apple TV box honestly. That lags a little bit and the apps that come on some of the other smart TVs lag with football. I can easily change from one thing to the other with this device. I don’t know how or why but it does and I’m not complaining!! It was so easy to set up. Beyond easy to set up actually. I just plugged it in and it recognized everything and told me to press one button and boom, done. I can use it on any TV in the house. My Samsung, my Sony it doesn’t matter. The TV in my living room has way more technology, but this Roku device made my regular Amazon insignia fire TV better than my super expensive TV in the living room. When my living room TV is glitching trying to watch football I come into my bedroom and I watch football on my Roku because it doesn’t lag like all the other different apps do on those other TVs I am blown away at that fact and it’s weird, but I have a better quality picture now and I don’t know why, but I’m happy about it! I probably should get one for my main TV now that I’m thinking about this.

I got two of these because they were selling for half the price of other Roku sticks. We already own a 4k Roku stick, and on our kids' non-4k TVs, there is absolutely no difference in quality. SO if you don't have 4k tv's just get this one. We have not tested the difference on our tv that is 4k, so I'm not sure how they would compare. Setting the Rokus streaming stick up Is EASY. Much easier and more direct than the firestick. i love that we can personalize themes and sounds. It connected quickly to our WIFI, which was a relief because some device have trouble with our cement walls. The remote buttons are simple and straightforward, so even our youngest child and our oldest family members were able to use all of the functions without assistance. The batteries seem to last for a while. We havent had to replace them yet. It comes with a variety of free streaming apps and even some games. again, that was much easier for the preschooler to use than firestick.

PROS: Super Simple Setup: Just plug it into your HDMI port and go through the on-screen instructions. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. Quick and Easy: Unlike the previous option we were using, this is incredibly fast and I don't have to worry about my Wi-Fi dropping out anymore. All-In-One Remote: I was constantly buying new remotes because they would either get lost or someone would leave them where the dog could get them. Now, I just have to worry about keeping this one up and out of the way because it handles EVERYTHING! (There are neat glow-in-the-dark sleeves for them, too, which makes it super easy to find!) Hidden Design: Since it's just a "stick," it hides completely behind my TV. There are no messy wires or boxes, sitting out in the open, taking up space. CONS: Needs Power: It still requires power, but you can plug it directly into the USB port on your TV (or a wall outlet if your TV doesn't have a USB port), so it's not completely wireless. Small Remote: The remote is great, but it is a bit small -- if you have a couch/chair that "eats" remotes, you'll want to keep a close eye on it. (Or buy one of those glow-in-the-dark sleeves! ;)) FINAL VERDICT: I'm keeping it. If you're looking for a way to make your TV "smarter" without buying a whole new television, this is a WIN! It’s reliable, easy to use, and definitely worth the money! I'm going to buy another for my son's TV, too!

Used ROKU stick to have a tv work for streaming any free or subscribed programs. Worked great. Remote would not sync to older tv but thats ok. Old remote for vol and on off. Roku remote for all else. I have two other Roku devices and those remotes paired fine. Roku is excellent and easy set up and use.

Bought it to cast from an Android tablet which it does well however I discovered it does poor multitasking. I started one tv app, then thought to try another and by the time I tried the fourth I noticed performance issues akin to buffering. When I restarted the Roku one app (tv channel) played fine. Perhaps I could have made changes in the settings, not sure as I put it into a drawer and decided to use a far more expensive chromcast device on my non smart tv. I would have returned the Roku if someone hadn’t thrashed the box.

This arrived last week and the early signs were very impressive. The streaming quality is superb here, despite me having a slow internet connection. My main complaint being that when streaming something quite lengthy, if you need to find out how much of it is still remaining, there's no easy way to display the remaining time. And I'm finding that some streaming apps are expecting me to press buttons which simply don't exist on Roku's remote. I've contacted Roku Support (3 times) to ask if there's an enhanced remote control unit available but they never reply. So I'm afraid I've downgraded my star rating.
