It works easily! Caught 2 rats!
I set up two of these Ucatch traps after buying them in November 2025, glad it came in a pack of 2. At first, I didn’t see any results, the food was gone, but no rats were caught. I honestly started doubting whether I’d even set them correctly or put the bait in the right place, especially because I left them alone for a while and forgot about them until December. When I remembered, I went back and watched the setup videos to see exactly how to load the bait and position the trap. This time, I paid close attention and made a mental note of how I set them to ensure that I press on the back so it can snap when a rat enters. Within about a week or thereabout, they caught two small rats! The rats were pretty small, but thankfully I could see the tail from outside but not the bodies. I had previously seen rats in my garage months ago, no idea where they came from, freaked me out! It’s getting colder in Minnesota so they probably found a way to get in for warmth. After a while I stopped seeing them, even though I still noticed poop droppings, they had damaged one of my fur winter coat. That made me suspect they were still around. Sure enough, Ucatch got them!! When it was time to throw them out, I was honestly scared and grossed out. I thought I might have to pop the trap open and physically handle the rats. On December 11, 2025, I watched the instructions video again and realized how easy it actually was: I just pressed down, released the rat into a trash bag outside, and that was it. I made sure to do it outside, just in case (God forbid) anything was still alive and tried to get into the house. Thankfully, all was fine. I rarely write reviews, but I had to come back and say these traps really work. For the second round, I added more peanut butter (same PB I used to catch these ones) in the bait compartment (I see they sell replacements on Amazon but I don’t need those now, just in case there are more rats lurking around. I didn’t need to clean the trap; I simply opened it to drop the rats into the bag. There was no smell, no noise, and it functioned exactly as expected. One important note: when I was trying to reset the trap after realizing it hadn’t caught anything the first time, I was fiddling with it to see how it worked inside, and it snapped on my finger and fell to the floor. I ended up with a small bruise on my right thumb. So don’t play around with it once it’s set, watch the video and follow the instructions carefully. Interestingly, one rat that died ate the bait fully, while the other one that also died hadn’t eaten much of the peanut butter at all. I had put a generous amount of bait, so maybe it only got a taste before it was caught. I absolutely hate dealing with rodents, but this product made it manageable. Great product!

Easy and safe
Living in the desert, we have lots of critters - most of which are welcome. But we had a recent invasion of desert rats on some outdoor potting shelves and the mess they made was disgusting and unhealthy. These traps work perfectly. The little bait holders are easy to fill with a small amount of peanut butter. And the rats can't resist it. Best of all, the cactus wrens (who also love peanut butter) can't reach the protected trap part. The traps are easy to set without fear of finger damage, and easy to dispose of the rat without touching the yucky bits. Just press down on the big paddle & the rat drops out, leaving the trap ready for another day. Effective, easy, & worth the price.

Awesome Rat Trap!!!
I researched many traps, as none seemed to work in the past. I liked the fact that this one was fully enclosed, so that I didn’t have to worry about where I would put it with my dogs and bird feeders outside. I finally decided on a window ledge outside one of our picture windows, and turned one of the bird feeder cameras towards the window to capture the activity of the rats at night, which was a lot. That showed us what we were doing wrong with our bird feeders, and how to place them more efficiently, without having to take them in each night, and making the only food source the rat traps. I originally had both traps out there together, but covered with some snake grass I bought at a pet store, and used peanut butter and baking soda to put in the trap, and even added some chocolate cake mix and cornbread mix, with a pice of slim Jim in the middle. I had little lids for water for them to drink. When I tell you I researched these pesky creatures, I truly did…which is why it is imperative to add baking soda to anything you give them, and preferably water nearby for the simple fact that, rats can’t burb or fart. If the trap doesn’t kill them, the baking soda will, by imploding them from the inside and it is not poisonous. Luckily, I haven’t had to worry about that anyway, because the trap works great! After reading other people’s reviews, I did however tape the bottom of the trap with some heavy duty tape, because the rat does thrash around at first, and will try to walk away with the trap. I’m glad that it comes with 2 traps, because that little knucklehead in the photo with the face, broke one of mine, because he was caught by his tail, and spent the night chewing through the “catch” that holds the lever, which broke the trap for further use, but unfortunately for him, did absolutely nothing towards setting himself free. Even with the one trap left, that we don’t even bother to cover anymore, we are up to 12 rats, and counting… We haven’t even had to change the bait. If it’s been awhile, I will switch up the bait, such as adding popcorn, and I will catch a new one. Greatest investment ever!

These traps are very effective
I prefer snap traps as I find them to be the most effective and poison free method to get rid of rodents. These are very effective. They are easy to bait and set. Much easier than regular snap traps. I caught 3 mice (large and small) within a couple of hours at first use. Very easy to release rodent from trap. I will continue to use these when needed.

Very effective
Okay, these things rock. I had some rats around my house that were very smart, and I eventually caught them with this trap. I had several of the traps, and the quality seemed consistent through them all. I recommend a mix of cheese, peanut butter, flour, and a little bit of slim Jim or something similar in a paste that is quite thick. Also, when I set the traps I try to depress the trigger a little with a stick or the like so they are very close to going off. I have caught multiple rats with a single trap, so they are durable.

First off, I never write reviews the same day I get the item. I've had this for less than 8 hours now. I've caught 3 rats so far. Am I impressed???? Yes, so, don't believe or put much weight on anyone that says they don't work. I've tried several (some much more expensive methods) and NONE have worked at all. I've caught NO rats at all with the other traps I've tried. This trap... unbelievable. 3 in the first few hours of use. Update, I'm up to 12 over a period of a month of using them on and off. Fill the small reservoir (from underneath) with some cheap peanut butter...and I also smear some on the 'plate' on the inside to increase the 'temptation' factor. And presto, check back within 24 hours and you'll likely have a fresh catch. I tested it with a stick, it's fast and hard, and will perform it's job quickly. They won't know what hit them. Rats are about the only animal I can think of that doesn't bother me too much to see go. Be patient with it, and ... it's a good idea to drill a small hole somewhere in it and attach a wire to it so that it can be tied down. We have coyotes here always looking for a free meal to take on the road with them....so, tie'm down. An update after a few months... these traps keep on keepin'on...caught 6 more the past few days after noticing droppings in our greenhouse. But..the 'trap lock' plastic mechanism has given out on both, I'm not surprised, the trap does work well, and does the 'kill' fast and efficiently, but.... using plastic parts in places where they will give out over time...well, that's just bad design. So, at this point, they are going to thrown out since they won't 'close' or 'set' anymore. Great while that lasted..but now... they're landfill...

Caught the rat!

Yup it works, Years ago, I purchased something similar, with a different company to get rid of Mice out of an apartment I lived in. The mice were able to lick the bait off the trap without triggering it. THIS trap, works really really well. I like that you unscrew this 'dime size' bait filler at the bottom of the trap. I put peanut butter in it, screwed it back into the trap and set it. I caught a rat rather quickly. Not sure exactly how long it was, as I set it up around 8:00pm outside, along the wall of my house/deck and I cleaned the trap out around 9:00am the next morning. Even though I used disposable gloves and an empty garbage bag to dump the body in, you don't physically touch the dead rat, its an easy release on the back of the trap, then you can reset it again. The only downside is that I caught a squirrel in it as well, and that really upset me. I know squirrels are considered designer rats, but it concerned me that I could end up catching chipmunks etc. Hopefully I've caught the one rat, but I will have to see. Not sure if Rats are loners or they have 'friends'. But I do highly recommend this product. I did try the humane trap and release cages, but if the rat can get their nose through a small hole, then they can fit their whole body through it as well, and thats what happened with the big wire traps I had purchased through amazon. I don't like to 'kill' animals, but having a rat in my garden was pushing it. This is also a 'faster' way of killing the rat. No poison, always a concern that a cat or a dog would eat the rat and they would injest the poison as well. It's a 'fast kill'. Clean, no chemicals, just an 'ewwww' moment when you first see the rat corpse in the trap.
