Special thanks to TopGeezer for providing excellent and easy to follow step by step instructions to supplement manufacturer's information booklet. TopGeezer also provided patient guidance and assurances. Must confess that I only opted for Freeview as the manufacturers of my trusted Freesat recorder had stopped making replacements. Professional installers could not resolve why the new Freesat recorder provided by them could not accept and resolve signal issues. The aerial output plug into the TV was providing an excellent Freeview video but the new Freeview recorder could not process this same signal data when aerial removed from the TV and inserted into the recorder. Followed TopGeezer's .important first stage. Not needing an aerial connection on the ground floor I was able to update the TV Box Pro directly to the router on the first floor. Connected HDMI cable from recorder to TV, aerial connection to recorder and its mains transformer. Easy to follow on screen instructions enable set-up to be completed. Large selection of stations shown from the device "Guide" button. Tested record system and all working well. Slight disappointment in that there seemed to be a deterioration in the image quality on both live and recorded programs. I had read warnings about not being able to fast forward adverts if I opted for Freeview via an internet connection. Needed to try this alternative because of the direct image quality. Fewer Freeview stations were available through the internet connection procedure but a random selection of those chosen provided a first class video images. No problem fast forwarding through test recordingss from several programmes recorded simultaneously from different channels. BBC iPlayer and Amazon Prime checked and able to log on and receive high quality video Used a high quality coaxial cable to link from output of the TV Pro Box to the input of the TV. This provided high quality images to the TV when the Freview recorder is turned off Spent a little more time than expected to get a perfect installation and now very pleased with the end result

So far it has lived up to expectations. Simple to set up and navigate. One slight niggle to date, I had to do a reset as it froze. It was fine after, but I hope this was a one off.

UPDATE - still loving this Box, but the newer badly designed remote was doing my head in. Why ruin something that was perfect? So I have bought an older ’YouView’ remote on Amazon which is so much easier to use, and it works fine on this new EE TV Box pro Extremely pleased with my purchase! The seller contacted me prior to posting to check thatI understood the technical and electrical things I would need. I confirmed that I already have one of these in my lounge, and this second one was for in my bedroom. Extremely easy to set up. Happy that BBC Iplayer, Netflix and Amazon Amazon Prime are already pre-loaded in the app section 😎 The seller noted my request NOT to deliver it using Evri - as we all know how bad they are! - And he took note that I really wanted a delivery by Royal Mail as they have direct access into my block of apartments. Which he kindly did. An impressive service. And a great little recorder box. My only disappointment when buying this second model is that the numbers to switch channels etc are right at the bottom of the remote, so very fiddly and you need two hands to change channels. The older remotes have the numbers higher up , which make life much easier. However, this is only a minor frustration, and overall it works like a dream And of course… on this newer model you can record four programmes all at the same time, instead of just two programs on the previous model. Amazing. 🥰

Delivered early and came with separate, clear, set-up instructions from the supplier, Topgeezer. Connecting up was quick and easy, taking about 5-10 minutes as the software updated - I used a wired connection. Scheduling recordings is straightforward and no problem with playback. Picture quality is good - I have an old plasma TV. The available functionality is all I need so I not sure what else someone might expect from this device. Particularly happy with the speed of navigating the options and switching channels is instant. I also have a smart TV and moving through the menus is comparative treacle. Build quality is good and box looks neat and tidy.

Arrived on time and item as expected. Clear instructions provided [and followed] with no installation issues. Using a freeview recorder/live TV only as per my original BT TV Box 4K Pro. Connected okay to my none BT/EE Wi-Fi network and installed the latest firmware update. All good so far. Very happy as saving almost £8 a month rental on the BT box. EE TV Box is noticably faster and better picture quality than the BT TV Box 4K Pro. >> Update: Lost all recordings after less than 48 hours and slow to respond. Returned for a refund. Its a same as it was initially as expected.

The EE TV box started having problems after 6 weeks, and started freezing, turning itself off in the middle of a programme. It will not rewind or fast forward if paused and will just shut down randomly or switch to BBC1 during recording playback. I have had to reset the entire box functions within the first 3 months of use, but this has not had any positive impact whatsoever. On reporting these issues to the seller I was informed there was nothing they can do as I was out of my 30 day warranty? No where on the Amazon listing did it state that this product was reconditioned, substandard or faulty. Nor did it state that the seller only guarantees the product for 30 days. They informed me I need to refer back to the manufacturer for any faults and what to do next. Appalling service standards, appalling customer service and appalling communication. This seller was not willing to assist me in any way. Avoid at all costs, or purchase at your own peril.
