Rugged, Feature-Packed, and Worth the Leap — Loving This Phone!
I waited to review this phone until I had time to really test it. I came from an older Samsung and was hesitant about switching brands, but for the price and features, Ulefone's Armor 28 Ultra Thermal caught my eye—and I'm glad I took the risk. This thing is a beast. The thermal and night vision cameras are more than just novelties—they’re genuinely useful, especially for work and exploration. The battery life is phenomenal, and the rugged build feels like it could survive just about anything. Waterproof, sturdy, and packed with bonus features like support that I can plug in extras like the devices like the uSmart E03 Rotatable Endoscope or the uSmart C01 digital microscope. I do not own any of these yet but look forward to trying them out. I mostly keep the screen brightness low but at full blast I can see the screen in direct sunlight no issues that is a huge win, this phone does more than most there a quite a few settings I have not tried out. A few things to consider: > No SD card slot (missed it, but the dual SIM is a plus). > A learning curve with Android 14 and some UI changes. > The weight and size are substantial—definitely not for small pockets—I don't mind it as a tradeoff for power and durability. > The rear display is cool, but I keep it off unless recording. And, did I mention speed and the huge battery? Love it! Highly recommend if you're looking for a durable, all‑in‑one rugged phone with actual utility tools built‑in. I carry this phone everyday and really enjoy it. *Some of the photos show a case that did not come with the phone. November 2025 one update: make sure you get an extra screen protector for some reason mine already cracked. Still enjoy the phone.

It boot loops and freeze multiple times
This phone waa started to glitch and freeze randomly the past weeks since i got it i googled and found out it was a common issue on this phone last night it totally went boot loop and no way to do even recovery mode or hard reset. Frustrated the price of 1k$+ unbreakable body but terrible software in gaming wild rift was laggy and not smooth not i expected. Now i have expensive brick in hand.

Good but worth $800 not $1200
Would love to give it more stars. But the camera is laggy. Doesn't focus well. I downloaded an AI camera app that improved it but still not great... The thermal, battery, performance, all 5 stars but regular 50mp camera for its claims is quite lacking... I think even the infrared camera works better than the main 😒. Solid durability. I think it's a solid $800 phone not worth the $1200 price tag sadly.

The best rugged phone I have had
This is the best phone I have ever had. I looked for the best rugged phone and nothing has come close to the ulefone armor 28 ultra thermal. It has exceeded every expectation for being the very best durable phone on th market. The specs out rate everything else. Nothing has come close to damaging it. This phone has the best combination of options in every catagory. The battery life has no rivals at all. You can't go wrong with this one. The Ulefone armor 28 ultra thermal phone outclasses every other phone in every catagory. I have had this phone for nearly 6 months and from water parks to cross country moving no complaints. This phone has outclassed all my other premium phones by alot.

This phone is not worth the price. Feels unpolished. Few good features don't make up for it.
The phone is okay, but not worth the price at all. The camera is very buggy, lacks feature, and cannot focus at close objects AT ALL. Quality id says is okay/decent. The thermal camera is amazing. Battery life is pretty good but I doubt it's actually 10k mah... Feels more like 7k when compared to a 5k mah Samsung. Typing on the screen feels bad, like it constantly clicks the wrong key, maybe the Samsung touch screens are just more sensitive. Durability is very good, have dropped it a few times and you could never tell. The AI tools for camera are utter GARBAGE. It feels like it's just a crap Photoshop. For ai removal it just blurs the image. Totally useless. I switched from a note 23 ultra and I want my old phone back honestly. The extra ram, storage, thermal camera, and battery life are the only redeeming features but are not worth how everything just feels inferior and unpolished. Not to mention this phones price. The screen on the back is honestly just so annoying. You cannot disable the touch on it and I find myself constantly declining calls and skipping songs with it in my pocket. Terrible design on that part. I wish I could just turn off touch, or even just the rear screen in general. This phone is very big and heavy, but that doesn't even bother me. But it does make everyone else's phones feel small. It is nice having IR and headphones jacks again, but in this day and age, I don't really use those. Occasionally this phone just stops getting reception/really slow loading even with 4 bars 5g, restarting is the fix I found. Just annoying. Also a lot of the default apps are not very good versus Samsung ones. This phone does also charge VERY fast, but get super hot. Like pretty hot to the point I doubt this will have a ton of longevity to it hot. I would pay max $500 for this phone.

I am very happy with this phone. I changed from Power Armor 18t to this one Armor 28 Ultra thermal, and this is huge upgrade. phone is much faster photo camera is way better and Thermal camera is level up. Night vision camera is great in room where was no other source of light it can see everything. The screen is Amoled and is excellent. I recommend this phone to everyone who didn't decide yet to buy.

A very rugged smart phone
This is a great phone! I’m a heavy equipment mechanic and use the thermal imaging almost daily trouble shooting engines and hydraulic systems. I have had other Ulefone’s, all have been great. A very tough phone as well. I had a problem right after receiving the phone. Problem was in the display. Contacted Daniel at there produce support line. Phone was replaced no questions asked. Excellent product support. I was worried about support when I started buying these phones, no longer a worry. This phone is so superior to the junk phones the cellphone people try to get you into. Best phone I’ve ever owned.

Good but has a few bad issues
Good battery, good screen, thermo imaging as described. But the software is mediocre at best. And I've had the side button accidentally open the thermo view while in my pocket at work causing it to generate an alarming amount of heat. I don't remember the exact temperature but when I opened the phone I got prompted with about 8 temp warnings
