Exceptional option if you can't set up an ac unit.
I had doubts because I bought this for a room that faces southwest and gets exceedingly hot in the afternoons. I'm so happy that I took the chance though. It holds gallons of water and produces just the right amount of humidity. The air coming out feels cool and lovely, not lukewarm and soggy like other swamp coolers I've owned. It has pretty good output with minimal noise. I hope it lasts a long time because it's working perfectly. I don't know if it could cool a room much larger than 120sf, but it's doing a great job for a room around that size. Very good value for the money and a great option if for whatever reason you can't just hook up an air conditioner. This room only has a hung door out to a balcony and the windows don't open (annoying!) so I can't vent an air conditioner which is another reason I'm super thankful to have found this cooler fan. Last year was miserable. This year is like living in another (cooler) climate.

Big disappointment.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I use this cooler in my garage while working on my vehicles and projects. This cooler made my life so much better. It cools down to comfortable level, without creating much humidity. It comes pretty much assembled, only wheels were required to be put on. It has various speed levels and even oscillates for the air flow. Most important, it runs quite and not loud at all. I highly recommend this cooler. Updating my review after 1 month of use- It stopped working after about a month of use. Luckily it was still in the return period, so returned it. Dont waste your time and money on this trash.

Worked way better than I had expected... so happy!
I bought this product almost 100% sure it wouldn't work and I would have to return it. Boy was I wrong! Nobody confuses Florida with being a cool place to live, temperature-wise, but the current heat dome has made the "feel like" temperatures approaching 115. Even with 2 3-ton AC units, it's impossible to keep the inside temperature below 78. I was saving this for a power loss in case of a hurricane or bad storm, power outages during the daylight hours can be brutal. Anyway, yesterday was miserable so I set this up around 4 PM, setup was easy. I filled the tank slowly. I was worried at first because I didn't see the minimum fill line indicator changing then realized it holds 5 gallons so I just kept filling it. A word of note, when filling it, some water drops may come out the front... I was worried I was filling it wrong but it wasn't much, good idea to have a towel on the floor when filling... it's really not a lot but wet floors are bad! I had frozen the cooling pack previously. Just a note, the freezing packs are not air tight, if you squeeze them with water in them, the water will come out so freeze them upright. I plugged the unit in near my sofa (with a towel around it in case it leaked - it didn't), turned it on, turned it to cool and high and sat down and played on my tablet. It worked... I mean worked well. I had to turn the speed down because it was actually getting too cold. I am very happy with the device!! Now, I am not saying this will cool your whole house, but a small room or area where you can congregate and stay put, this will work wonders for you. A thought that may help. If you have a spare fridge (one you use just for drinks or whatever) get 5 1-gallon water bottles and keep them cold. You can obviously refill these after. The device runs air through water to cool the air, so if you have cold water I imagine the results will be even better. I have not tried this yet, I used tap water, but if you have cold water when the power goes out (and have a backup power supply) this could really help.

Really great alternative to an AC unit.
It works great but doesn’t really cool the room down as much as I measure my rooms temperature constantly I would say though in classic swamp cooler fashion if you need to cool down just sitting in front of it on full blast will do the trick. Just don’t expect it to be a replacement for an AC unit. Also the remote only uses non rechargeable batteries so be wary of that as that’s why it’s losing a star. The quality is really nice as well. It will add humidity to your room so be prepared for that. The wheels work quite nice for moving it from room to room. All in all it’s a very nice inexpensive way to stay cool during those hot days.
