We ordered this catio to help our cat spend time outside at our new house without escaping the yard as she has become known to do. The catio arrived in many pieces and required several hours to assemble. Fortunately, the instructions were clear complete with images and all parts and pieces were present. It was worth taking the time to build it because it looks great, is made of real wood, and our cat really loves it. There are several perches she can climb or jump to and there is a large area on the bottom where one of us can actually fit inside and sit with her in the grass. The roof is very neat as well it has clear plastic panels like skylights and it comes with a cover that will provide added protection from the elements during rainy weather. Overall, this is a great product that can keep animals like cats safe and secure while still enjoying your outdoor space! Highly recommend!

We use this cage indoors to keep our 2 busy kittens safe at night and their food away from the dog. The large size cage on wheels is roomy and comfortable, easy to roll around for cleaning under and behind, looks good and the kittens like it. We did have to make a few modifications and plan on a few more. The wood is splintery. Watch for areas that might need to be sanded. We tried using towels and blankets to cover the floors. Finally opted for a 2’ wide piece of linoleum and cut it to size. Much better! The hole to the upstairs is a bit small - needs to be cut bigger. The ramp would be nicer covered with carpeting. Our kittens chewed the edges of the bottom shelf (see photo). We re-glued and covered all those edges with duct tape. Working so far. Planning to put some carpeting on it. We did not install the box (as they wouldn’t use it). The kittens both wanted to use the hammock and we had to hang another. The only way to hang it was by unscrewing the roof panel because the door on that side is too small. Wishes for improvements: wider to accommodate an automatic litter box, maybe half as long but wider…clear panels around the litter box area to contain the litter, front opening doors vs side doors to more easily change the litter, food and wash the hammocks. For the price - it was the best option available at the time. Hoping for a new and improved version II.

This review has been edited. Initially, we were quite disappointed because as soon as we opened the box we noticed a bunch of defects. Dents, scratches, and broken screen. We contacted the seller who offered us a few options, including shipping it back and getting a full refund, replacing parts of the order, or offering a partial refund to compensate for the damaged parts. We reached an agreement and we are quite happy with the overall experience. Product and seller recommended.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!This looks awesome in the advertised photos. HOWEVER, I can’t begin to fully explain how cheaply made this item is. We are having to spend so much money to “ fix” the issues, it literally would have been better to have built our own. The wood is very fragile & easily splits & breaks. There’s gaps all over from the roof to the door, and they can’t be seen until fully assembled .It’s thin wood & staples. We are replacing all the platforms and hide boxes, but first we have to rework the frame to even accommodate better & sturdier wood etc.. to make the platforms SAFE for our cats. When I purchased this, there wasn’t enough reviews to be properly informed. There is now. The door is not sturdy at all. It needs reinforcing. I intend to use this outside, so I need to make sure my pets can’t get hurt or escape as well as no other animal can get it. It will take time & money to accomplish this, way beyond what this catio offers once assembled. If it’s for a garage or an already enclosed area, you will still need to take care of the platforms & hides to ensure your pets don’t get injured. BUYER BEWARE!

Many parts to assemble but easy enough to do. The finish is not good. Have had it for almost a year and the finish is failing. Does have many levels for the cats to pick from.

It’s the same as it looks online. We got the cat retreat for my son’s cat for when he visits. His cat is spoiled and won’t tolerate other cats so we hope this will work for her. Assembly is just how I thought it would be. My husband and I spend 4 hours assembling it. We needed a drill and 2 clamps. The clamps are a must if you want it square. Not everything went perfectly. We had to remove a wood strip under the walkway to the cat box to get it to fix. It was not a big deal. One of the drawings was misleading but there was only one way to put it together so we got it done. It has a strong odor but it’s not unpleasant to me. Probably the smell of the wood/stain/sealant. We will let it air out a couple of days until the princess arrives. I think it looks great and it was exactly as I hoped it would be. I’m very pleased with my purchase. It’s sturdy and well built.

Love this Catio. You don't have to put all the shelves in if you choose not to. Our stray cat stays in here when he chooses. However, I do have 2 cat houses that I ordered through Amazon for him for Winter. And, I have also winterized it by putting insulation around it with foam, cardboard, and a King-sized Comforter to block the wind. It's also placed under a Patio Canopy that we have to keep rain away. Highly recommend.

Easy to assemble, the quality was not that good. The wood and the wire mesh are fragile. But I like it even it was not so sturdy.
