For the price, this is an absolutely superb bit of kit, no reason not to have one on any vehicle sat unused over the cold winter months. Saves buying a brand new battery when they deplete over time, just connect it with the parts supplied in the box to your battery and leave it, giving you piece of mind that when you're ready to go, your battery will be too. The cables are a reasonable length, the charger although very light in terms of weight and display information functions as it should and is plug and play.

This is a slow gentle charge maintainer to help maintain a battery & prevent unnecessarily heating & boiling battery levels from fast charging. Having originally twice purchased the AA maintainer which both failed after a couple of uses (as per other reviewers), the Motopower 1000ma MP00205B has proven to be a great reliable purchase for keeping both of my rarely used cars batteries topped up. This model displays every stage of the charge & switches to float maintenance mode where it can be left connected for extended periods or unplugged should you choose to.

I used the MOTOPOWER MP00205A 12V 800mA fully automatic battery charger/maintainer on my Toyota RAV4 while it was left unused for about 45 days. I simply connected it to the car on the driveway, and when I returned, the 12V battery measured 12.6 V, the car started and drove perfectly, and there was no battery discharge or issues at all. The charger is easy to use, fully automatic, and very affordable at £18. It kept my OEM battery healthy without any need for upgrades or expensive replacements. One important note is that the cable is very short. I had to cut it and extend it by 2 metres to reach comfortably. If you do this, make sure to reconnect properly using electrical tape or solder the wires, and make it waterproof to avoid any risk of damage or short circuits. People should be aware of this before purchase. For anyone leaving their car idle for extended periods, this is a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution.

I bought this charger/maintainer for my electric start generator, which is rarely used. During our last storm, the battery was too low to start the generator, so I needed to find a charger/maintainer. Finding one with the quick connect connectors was an adventure, until this product was recommended by a guy on youtube. The price is great, and I only had to plug this into the connector in my generator, without having to remove the battery. Easy. The generator had not been started in 4 months, but I don’t know how low the battery was. The instructions say that it will not charge a battery that’s below 4 volts, although I see on other comments here, that it might. In any event, I plugged it in. At first, only the ‘on’ light came on, without indicating it was charging. Of course, I ‘panicked’. I disconnected the connector and connected it again. This time the red light came on, indicating that it was charging. The comments here says this will take about 5 hours or so, and then I will leave this connected to make sure the battery is always topped up. I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I need to edit this, as now I am having problems with the charger, after only about 2 hours of use (and not charging the battery).

Works perfect so far. Ordered it, had it in 2 days and now have my Harley fully charged and the battery nice and warm. Very easy to read lights, nice long flat spot on the back for laying on the floor or mounting to a wall and all the attachments you need. And the price is unbeatable. Thanks MOTOPOWER!

Very pleased with this charger, I bought it to keep my RE Himalayen battery topped up when the bike is layed up. The tender wire the charger comes with makes it so easy to charge once it's fitted to the battery
