Relief from the heat!
I'd been toying with the idea of an AC for a number of years and finally decided to get one, choosing Meaco because this range had topped a couple of best but guides I'd seen. I bought the 10000 BTU model even though it's above and beyond what was required for my room size as it was heavily discounted. It was delivered the day after delivery and I got it set up straight away. It's easy to set up, the window kit is straightforward to install. Once turned on, make sure it's in the right setting, and within a minute or so the air being pumped out is very cold. If I put my hand out of the window and feel the air being blown out of the hose it's very warm. Quite quickly you notice the difference in temperature. It takes about an hour to lower the room by 3-4 degrees Celsius, which doesn't sound like much but you soon notice it once you leave the room. Negatives? It's too loud to sleep next to, but then I fully expected that. Portable ACs are noisy, there's no way around that. It's heavy, so getting it up the stairs was enough of a bugger that I wouldn't be ferrying it up and downstairs willy nilly. The wheels also aren't great on carpets. Overall though, I'd highly recommend. P.s. the WiFi is good too! It's great being slumped on the sofa and being able to set the AC running an hour or so before bed so that the room is cool when you get into bed.

Works really well but very loud
We decided to invest in air con as we work from home and summers are getting hotter and hotter. This unit was in our living room which is quite open plan with the dining room and open stairs. It cooled down the living room, but didn't extend to upstairs or the adjoining kitchen. However, it didn't just cool down the room a little - it actually made it feel cool and very comfortable, even during the highest temperature heatwaves. We even had family visit just to cool down during the heatwaves of the summer. The only problem is that it is very loud, I'd say about 75% of the volume of a hoover, so when you have it running for a long time it's very noisy, and you can't have it on near to you while taking work calls, chatting with guests or watching TV. It's very big and the hose and the window fitting are also very ugly but there are ways around that. It's user friendly and really helped us survive the summer as a family who are very sensitive to heat.

Superb portable A/C unit
My office is a 20ft x 10ft portacabin which gets extremely hot and uncomfortable in the summer months--far warmer than a house. I've had three different brand air con units over the last few years, all of which have struggled to keep temps even equal to the outside temperature. This unit has managed to reduce the temperature to 21 c with an outside temp of 28 degrees. Without air con the inside temperature of my portacabin would be around 31 c. Add to that the convenience a remote control, reliable wi-fi app, heat pump for the colder days, fantastic UK build quality and a proper comprehensive English language instruction manual I'm more than happy. A little noisy yes, but they all are. Being comfortable is the most important aspect. Once in a while you buy a product which ticks the boxes and this is one of them.

It's VERY loud
I does definitely cool the room down, however in hot weather it won't really cool below 22°C. Which is still fine to sleep in. The app works good and you can switch the unit on before you go into the room to cool the room down before you go to sleep. BUT - it's LOUD! when I read the reviews I thought, well yes it will be a little loud that's fine we do have some fans that are quite loud and it doesn't really bother me but this is loud on another level. Like a helicopter taking off. Can't watch TV with it on (unless you have the TV on really loud) . The fan function is really good and feels like cool air is blowing. Am I using it? Yes, because it's just too hot in our bedroom without. Would I buy it again? No, it's just too loud. I can't compare it to similar units as I haven't heard any other ones, so who knows, maybe they are all this loud but I doubt it.

Works a treat
This is excellent very simple to use and very effective brings our main bedroom down from 26 degrees to 19 easily / farm house cottage south facing smallish room it is quite loud even on the sleep function but taking the heat out of the room for a few hours before bed really helps get to sleep It’s quite heavy but the build quality is really good
