Fantastic at sucking up pet hair from carpets!
I've had this vacuum 3 months now and I'm really impressed. I've had Shark vacuums for years now and I usually get their pet, upright vacuums. When my last one died I was looking for similar and wasn't finding a "pet" one at the time, but this kept popping up and seemed the closest. I really was not sold on the auto-emptying station and thought that was unnecessary...but after 3 months of daily use, I love it. Is it needed? No. But does it make life a little easier - yup! I was the worst about finishing up vacuuming and not emptying the vacuum and having to empty it mid vacuum the next time, but this handles that problem and I really love that about it. I do have to remember to empty the bin on the base, but I usually remember before it's too full (usually, not always). I bought an extra set of filters for the vacuum and base and find that so far they need to be swapped out/cleaned about every 1.5 months (as i'm coming up to my next swap out). As for the way it works on pet hair - AMAZING! In our household we have 3 long hair cats, 2 golden retrievers and a goldendoodle that sheds worse than both goldens combined. It's the best vacuum for pet hair i've tried yet. I was really shocked that it got the dog hair off the carpet and backdoor rug that does not like to give up the hair no matter what i've tried. I use to vacuum my living area rug and then take one of those pet hair rakes to it to get the hair off, but this vacuum picks up all the visible hair so I haven't even felt the need to do the pet rake. It has 3 modes and I find I use the eco mode the most. The mid-range mode has so much suction it sucks up my smaller area rugs and the rollers stop working, so I just use eco mode on those and they are low/no pile so it works really well. When I get to the living room area rug it's considered a low pile (but plush) and I use the mid-range mode that auto speeds up the brush, and it picks up the pet hair great. On my backdoor mat that is one of those heavy duty get-the-water-and-mud-off rugs from HD, I use mode 3 and that gets it all off in a few swipes. Things I wish they would change on future models: I wish it just started on eco mode and not the mid-range mode. Or at the very least started where you left off the last use. I wish there was a way to boost the suction while on eco mode like my last Shark did. That little trigger boost was really handy. Battery life is good. Suction is great. It's just really a fantastic vacuum and i'm very happy with my purchase and will hopefully have it for many years like my pervious Sharks.

You are going to LOVE this vacuum! Life Changing ...
While this may not be the right tool to use to clean up a box of Captin Crunch that has spilled off the counter all over your kitchen floor, this vacuum is life changing in every other way. Incredibly easy assembly; the head of the vacuum is the perfect size and flexibility to get in, around and under EVERYTHING. It picks up dust, pet hair, dirt, every little particle along the base boards and into the corners. When you're done you can SEE the difference and it is equally wonderful on tile, wood, carpet and rugs. The assembly plugs into a standard outlet so the unit is contantly charged and so light and easy to grab. I am DONE with heavy, awkward vacuums, clumsy cords and wasting time house cleaning with little visible difference. I LOVE the attachments that come with the unit and the empty system that keeps everything clean, neat and out of my way. Back to the Captain Crunch. It doesn't pick up large pieces of debris .. No worries - for that I use a broom and a waste bin, THEN the Shark Clean and Empty to make my kitchen perfect again.

Cordless Cleaning Made Simple!
This Shark cordless vacuum is fantastic! It’s sleek, lightweight, and so easy to use. I can clean my entire house on a single charge, and it picks up dirt effortlessly from all floor types. Cleanup is a breeze, too. I especially love how convenient it is you can just grab it, clean, and go without having to plug anything in. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a quick, efficient, and cordless cleaning solution! Definitely worth every penny!

Magnet latch is a design flaw
Overall, I like it. Would I buy it again? No. It’s light weight. It’s cordless. It works well for small things. Not good for sucking up objects bigger than 3/4 inch. The auto empty feature is cool. But the biggest issue is the latch door that allows suction. It stays shut by a magnet, and when that magnet gets clogged with small metal shavings (think anything metal small in a house), the latch won’t shut after emptying. There is no indication of it not being shut so you go on your way vacuuming and realize later you did not have good suction. I have to clear mine of the small metal shavings 2-3 times a week. It’s annoying. And of course they are not easy to get to and using a strong outside magnet to pull off the shavings does not work well because the magnets have opposing polls and you can only get a few things off. It’s just a design flaw that could easily be fixed by allowing the built in magnet to be released in order to clean it out. Or use a strong spring that does not use magnets to close, or something better than this.

Good Vacuum, but could be improved. The vacuum does a good job of cleaning, picking up tiny dust, hair, etc. It works as intended. The emptying into a large canister is nice and generally works well. Where it can be improved... 1) The flap where the dirt empties into the large canister sometimes remains open after emptying. When this happens, as you vacuum and didn't notice some dirt spills out as you're cleaning. So, you have to ensure it's closed before you start vacuuming everytime. 2) The 2 connection parts that disassemble to convert to handheld don't come apart or put back together smoothly. It requires a bit of jiggling to get the parts in and out. 3) The large collecting bin traps hair and dust into one part of the bin, so you end up having to use your hand or a stick to empty, which defeats the whole point of not getting your hands dirty when emptying. Overall, it's a decent vacuum, but for the price, I would have expected it to be built a bit better.

As a user of proper vacuum cleaners I was skeptical about cordless vacuum cleaners. Unfortunately my experience proved true. As soon as I got it I tried to vacuum a strand of hair and wouldn’t come. I felt like I am holding a fan not a vacuum. I tried vacuuming the tiles, I had to go over the piece of crumble four times to pick it up. Then I tried to vacuum my carpet, the vacuum showed red light and shut off and the battery which was full became zero. This is a toy not a vacuum.

This vacuum is not intended for anything other than hard floors. The brush head does not pick up pet hair from carpet, low or high pile. The “pet brush head” doesn’t pick up pet hair either. We’ve struggled with it and now are passed the return window and are stuck with it. It’s for sale for a really good price but I can’t offer warranty or returns.
