A must have in today's world!
So I was looking for a discreet camera recorder for class and upon searching on amazon, out of ALLL the items that are available on amazon-THIS was the only one that was 4k, able to be attached to a pocket or collar of some type, and that was actually discreet. Also, the sound and video quality is phenomenal and functions just the way it says it does. W/the ability to snap high qualty pictures. Good value for the price. Very simple to use. Lasts for quite a while off of 1 charge. Even matches with my clothes as the color of the device is a neutral color that goes with literally everything! With THIS thing, do yourself a favor, don't hesitate or 2nd guess it, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! You won't regret it.

Photo quality is very poor.
This is the second one I ordered. The first arrived with the box open and the SD card was missing. I returned it and ordered a second. This one arrived with the seal intact so all good. The picture quality is very, very poor. Given the price point I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting better than this. Shame on me, I should have known better. This is awful at best. I'd return it, but since I opened the package and figured this was a bit of a gamble anyway, I'll keep it, but this is not at all what is advertised. HD? Not a chance!

Blue Light Special!
With a product so purposely vague in design, an accurate and well structured Users Manual is absolutely critical. Although straightforward directions are provided, actually repeated multiple times with some steps, your intro is a statement taking credit for formatting the included memory card for you. Just a few pages later and the first bullet point in the 'Tips' section the first details the need to perform the same. Mind you, for a 128G memory card. The one included is a 64G. Curiously this same information is shared once again word for word on the very next page. Jumping to the last page another curious item. You are informed that the device does not capture sound; guess again it does (see my second photo). This device claims 2048x1152 pixel resolution in support of the touted 2K video. Fact is, most 2K displays on the market DO NOT SUPPORT 2048x1152 in what is referred to as their 'Native' resolution. An automatic conversion process takes place that usually results in a negative impact on image quality. I discovered this first hand during the play back of captured material on my 4k monitor. The image quality is perhaps the worst I've ever viewed. Of course I realize the main purpose of this device is not to capture the highest quality video. With that said, there should not be so much boasting about 4K this and 2K that in the product posting. Regarding the 4K photos captured, I could almost say the results were worse than the 2K video. My suspicions were raised immediately upon seeing the size of files created by this device. Typical size of a file is in the 800KB range. In my experience a good quality 4K image in the jpeg format is going to be in the 4.5-8MB range. After a bit of research I discovered the reason for the huge difference in file size. Although images are in a 4K resolution, the low quality processor used only achieves 96 DPI. For reference/comparison 300 DPI is required for a decent quality photo print. I've included a screen capture from my PC. The information it includes provide some support of my findings. I would like to end the review here but there is one more thing I must comment on; The 'Nanny Cam' claims in the product title. In a word, this is absurd. Unless the nanny is willing to pick this device up, turn it on, activate the camera and then shut it off when she's happy with what been captured, this claim simply is not justified. ALL processes performed with this 'covert' device are validated by way of a highly visible blue light. This tiny blue LED is located directly opposite the built-in shirt clip... enough said.

Pretty cool
This thing works like a real pen and comes with everything you need to get started. The pen comes with a stand to put the pen on as well as ink refills and an SD card. I don't know that I trust the SD card so I will probably replace it with something better, but it's nice that it came with one. The pictures are okay. As with most of these small cameras, lighting is your friend. If you are using this in a dark room, your pictures will be worse, but if you have a lot of light, they aren't bad. My only slight complaint is that the pen is larger than any normal pen I've seen, but if you put it on a shelf or something, nobody would notice. Overall, this is a good spy camera.

Good Hidden lens, bad operation
This pen with spy camera seems to have everything you need included in the kit. The camera / pen, a OTG reader that works with all phones, a charging cable, a memory card, and ink refills. It even has a printed manual. The good parts are that the pen seems to be well built and writes well. It looks like a normal pen. They did a great job of hiding the camera lens in the pen clip. Since the entire clip is glass, you can't see the camera. This is great! However, that is where the good things end. The memory card that came with it was broken and wouldn't read in the camera or on my computer. The manual doesn't talk about the lights flashing to indicate a memory card error, so for a while I thought that the unit was broken too. I formatted and existing card that I had and installed it. The lights blinking now matched the pattern described in the book. Unfortunately the only input on the camera is the clicker at the top - which doesn't send the ball head of the pen out - you have to twist the pen for that. So when you click the pen it seems odd to people who notice this. Also the only output you have is the light on the back. This means you have to be looking at the light to read the blinks, memorize what they mean, and then know what pattern to click. Press and hold for 4 seconds to turn on says the manual but doesn't indicate what the light response should be. Press the button twice to start recording and the blue light should flash 3 times then go out. Turn off the recording press the button 3 times and the blue light stays on. Hold down the clicker for 8 seconds to turn the device off and the blue light goes off. This is too much to memorize in the field if you ask me. Why not just have one click to turn on and two clicks to turn off? Or a dedicated switch? The video is supposed to be 2k / 30 fps but it didn't look quality to me. Any quick motion results in blurring.
