Good price. Works flawlessly. For the person who needs storage is a small package.

I have installed a complete operating system (Linux Mint 21.3) along with all my document, video, and music files on this drive because it is advertised to be a 3D NAND portable SSD (although it looks like extra large thumb drive). I move the drive back forth between two home computers and also use it my laptop. I am hoping to get longevity from this drive close to what would be offered by an M2 2280 3D NAND internal SSD. I used LUKS full drive encryption. I also later ordered a second one of these drives, which I use for a complete drive backup (via dd command) about once per week. I had run a speed test using gnome disks using various size files, which returned read speeds between write 370 MB/sec and 440 MB/sec and 310 MB/sec and 420 MB/sec. I use the drive 5 to 6 times per week 2 to 5 hours at a time on a journaling file system. If it doesn't last at least a year, I will update this review. It runs a little hot but my application is really making it work.

Out box the drive was ExFAT formatted with no files present. Initial Blackmagic Speed Test looked good with 1,072 MB/s writes and 917 MB/s reads. Dragndrop write of many GB of large photo and video files, write speed dropped 90%. You'll need several hours to fill drive.

Good read/write speed, as advertised. Had to initialize twice on my Mac's Disk Utility before it would be readable by Finder, weird. Functions perfectly after that. Installed into Android-based touch panel as internal storage expansion. Seems to be working well, only slightly warm to touch on extended usage.

The worst & slowest usb flash drive I have experienced at All within the same price category, the writing speed is not constant , when trying to copy large files it starts with 300 MB/s then speed drops down to less than 50 MB/s, I bought 3 of them ( 2 x 2 TB & 1 x 1 TB ) but I’m going to return them all , don’t waste your time & money

Ich nutze den Stick als Träger eines temporären Betriebssystems und mit USB3 merkt man davon nichts. Wusch - ist alles da. 512 GB reichen für Normal-Computer-Nutzer völlig aus. So nach 3 oder 4 Std wird der Stick ein wenig handwarm, daran ändert sich bis zum Feierabend auch nichts.

La uso da più di un anno e le impressioni sono ottime. E' molto veloce, rispetto alla media delle chiavette usb, sia in lettura che in scrittura (anche con i file di piccola dimensione...che sono i più "critici"). Ovviamente utilizzandola intensivamente tende a scaldarsi, ma il corpo metallico funge da dissipatore. La uso sia su PC che direttamente collegata ad un Galaxy S23plus. Consiglio vivamente.

Unlocking this ssd was a pain. At first it was instantly fast when data were little to none. But as more data piled on the wait time for Transcend Elite to show up is a ridiculous 15 minutes. I gave up in the end. Removed the password, uninstalled Transcend Elite and ended up using Bitlocker.
