Picky cat recommended!
My very picky 13 year old cat was losing weight and she kept turning her nose up to every food I bought, she would eat a few bites and walk away. Until I tried Tiki Cat After Dark Soft Pate - She LOVES it!!! And is gaining weight!! My other cat also enjoys it. I might go broke feeding it to her, but I finially found a food that is worthy of HRH and she is now purring instead yelling at me.

Ingredients are decent. My cats won’t touch it
I wanted to switch them over to a better quality wet food. They’re currently on Fancy Feast, which isn’t horrible. However, I started spotting small pieces of fish bone in their Fancy Feast Seafood Medley pâtés. I had never encountered this, before, but I can no longer feed them Fancy Feast now that I know quality control is an issue. That being said, I was excited for them to try the Tiki Cat. Tiki Cat After Dark was recommended by a cat nutritionist I follow on Instagram. After doing my own research, I decided to give it a go. While a bit pricey, I was fine with spending the money— especially because my four cats split about two cans a day. I free feed them Farmina N&D and supplement with wet food for added hydration (and for extra calories for my senior cat who is more prone to being on the thinner side). Anyway, unfortunately, my cats wouldn’t give this a chance. As soon as I opened it, my senior cat, who is amongst the pickiest of the four of them, literally just walked away. My two other boys gave it a smell and a taste, but they ultimately decided it was a “no” from them, as well. This isn’t really Tiki Cat’s problem, so I still have them four stars. It is worth noting that, if you have a picky eater, or any cat used to less-premium food options, then you may have a more difficult time transitioning them. The good thing about canned food, however, is you can donate the unopened cans to a nearby shelter or rescue. An opened bag of dry food would have been more of a waste.

Why Brewers Dry Yeast? Exacerbating Twitching
I tried Tiki Cat After Dark Turkey & Lamb as well as the Venison for my cat who has environmental allergies and food sensitivities. I just wanted a simple, limited ingredient, high-quality food, but instead his twitching and dilated pupils worsened after starting it. The only new ingredient compared to his previous diet was brewer’s dried yeast. Brewer’s yeast is sometimes marketed as a “nutritional booster,” but it’s also a known allergen and potential nervous system irritant in sensitive animals. For such an expensive product, I don’t understand why this filler is included at all, especially when other premium brands don’t use it. To be clear, it didn’t cause his twitching, but it absolutely exacerbated existing symptoms. Once I removed the food, he improved. At this price point, I would expect truly clean formulations, not unnecessary additives that put sensitive cats at risk. At the end of the day, it’s a brewing byproduct used because it costs pennies compared to fresh meat or organ and it can be marketed as vitamin boosting, but there are more straightforward ways to do that without filler.
