Risk and reward
Yes the parts are tiny, yes the build is challenging, but that’s the nature of this type of model! I’m very impressed with piececool’s numbering system being written right on the build sheets. My only complaint is that some of the build is hard to make out on the instructions, and with metal models trial and error is not usually a good option. Bending too much leads to breaks of course. The other thing I should mention is that this particular build starts very hard and eases up as you go along, persevere and the reward of completion is worth the effort! Good luck!

Challenging build.
Challenging build. I’m 62 years old and have been building plastic model kits since I was 10. This is only my third 3d metal model. I’ve built hundreds of models during my life. (nerd; not sports fan 😊) During my adult years, I’ve earned a degree in architecture, which means that I have extensive model-making experience from my college years. I’ve worked in NY architectural firms as a professional designer and model maker. I’m recently retired and needed something challenging and to keep my mind and eye-hand coordination sharp; This is the way I relax. Having said that, this is one of the most challenging models I’ve ever built. The following was my experience plus requirements: - It took me over 42 hours to assemble (2.5 hrs. per day over 17 days). - Needed to use a magnifying lamp and superglue for areas where tabs were broken. - Due to the level of difficulty, it’s only 97% accurate. Speaking of which, the description states the level of difficulty is a 3 out of 7. This is very misleading. I’d say 6.5 (reserving 7 for another 3d model I’m not aware of). - Unless you’re an extraordinarily skilled 16-year-old, or one from another planet, you might be able to handle this build. Otherwise, it takes years of prior model-making experience to handle this build. - Pieces are very tiny and difficult to handle, but yes, doable with a high level of patience. This build actually takes the skill of a surgeon. - And, most importantly, you need the patience to count grains of sand. If you don’t have that level of patience, it will not be an enjoyable experience. I don’t say that lightly. This build should not be rushed. At a slow and steady pace (while watching the late-night shows), I found it stimulating and satisfying. - Finally, this is a highly detailed and beautifully engineered model worthy of bragging rights. In the end, I was extremely proud of my accomplishment. It was a monumental task. Every time I look at it, I say to myself, ‘Great job! But never again. I show it off every chance I get. I’m going to display it in an acrylic case to protect it from dust. My next metal models will be much easier. Hope my review was helpful.

3-D train locomotive
I’m sure this 3D would look nice once assembled however requires special tools to assemble which I didn’t see any mention of in the description

This is an excellent 3d metal model. The model is quite challenging to complete. I have put it aside whilst I work up to it some easier models.

I have made several Piececool models before this one and happy with the results. In this case however I found that the tabs on the sidecar did not match up with the slots, and I had to use glue to place the wheel correctly.
