These weight plates are good quality, especially for the money. The rubber coating is very nice, making them so easy to handle.

Found these had a heavy petroleum smell once they were unpacked, just like what others have said in other reviews. Left these in the garage for a week to air and smell was almost gone. After a couple more weeks the smell is near none existent. These weights are getting extensive use and am very satisfied with them. Looking to buy another set to give more weight options.

I ordered this weight plate set after trying to find similar things on Craig's List for a few weeks. The cost was similar to the iron plates that I would have gotten (they are generally ~$1/pound). The plates arrived quickly and were of decent quality. There was a plastic (chemical?) smell, but it dissipated over a week or so. Now, I don't smell anything. It is nice to have the plastic coating around the iron plates, so that when two hit or I put down the barbell quickly the sound is muted.

This would be a 5 star because my boys love the weights and bar. Im putting it as a 3 star due to i received one of the 2.5lbs weights with torn plastic/rubber around it. I guess there is no quality control

They’re weights… you pick them up, you put them down … they do what they’re supposed to… be weights to be picked up and put down… on a serious note: pretty good I’d say, I use them for a ‘home gym’ outside, they’ve been baking in the sun for however long since I’ve had them, the rubber has only faded and discolored but far as I’ve noticed hasn’t become brittle or peeled off yet. They’re weights …for an outdoor home gym.

I have used these a lot now. I work out 5 times a week and use these every day. I even thought that the red sticker that says the weight on them would fall off. They haven’t yet. I definitely would recommend these.

Strange acrid smell coming from them. Had to move them outside because they stank up the room they were in. Not recommended

Very good quality/price. Worth the money.

Excellent quality with rubberized coating. They do have a strong smell so I suggest letting them air out first. The smell does go away. Came with 2 x 10lb, 4 x 5lb, and 2 x 2.5lb plates. Also came with locking collars so I didn't have to separate collars for my supercurl bar. I recommend these plates if you are starting a home gym.
