Purchased as the item was described for indoor use. We use it to keep our rambunctious dog from eating the Christmas tree, and it worka. The poles that keep each length of fencing together are made to have a sharpe side down, but that doesn't work for indoor purposes. The sharp end sticks up. I believe caps were included but far, far too s all to use. We used Styrofoam but it was an eyesore.
