I was absolutely thrilled to get these books. The price was very reasonable and the books were individually wrapped in plastic, so they were well protected. Shipping was fast which was excellent because I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. These are my first set of mangas from this author and I absolutely love them. These are definitely page turner’s. I don’t know if this is a quirk of the author’s, but the books are backwards. You literally have to read them from back to front. Is that a thing? Either way, I have no complaints about them. Perfect hardcover books that’ll last you a long time.

I was surprised to find elements of Ito's work across multiple points in modern Cosmic Horror Genre media. Moreover, games like Elden Ring also seem to have been inspired by his work. It was an entertaining read.

This is also the best deal I have found on these 3 books as a whole rather than buying them seperately. There were no signs of wear to any of the books. I am very pleased with my purchase. A review of the books First off, The artwork in these books are amazing. It was one of the reasons that I was drawn to these books. The stories are based on Japanese legends and I just love horror and legends when it comes to a genre of choice. My favourite of all the books is Tomie; Honestly there is no flaw when it comes to the way this book was set up. The horror story was handled in a way that really grasps the reader. I often was telling myself; "Just one more page" Each chapter was its own self contained story with very little connecting them the the previous stories. The one thing that they do connect with is "Tomie" and her murders... All of the books gave me chills; there is gore and blood and disturbing images throughout the books but all of that contributes to the horror.

I bought a really cool game called World of Horror and in reading about it, learned that Junji Ito was a major influence and gave this collection a shot, despite not being a fan of manga/anime. I love Ito's art and storytelling, but ultimately, his creativity and the addictive quality of his books. It is eye candy for horror fans. His use of greyscale is so good that I never understood that the use of it was an art in and of itself. Can't wait to collect even more of his work.
