The scent is light and not overbearing. I don't use the recommended amount, I use less. I use less because I don't want to have it to heavy scented. The scent lasts until the next wash. We have no skin issues. I have Cool cotton scent and really like it a great deal. I have bought it numerous times and will as long as it is available.

This is my go to scene bead. The smell of this downy cool cotton is so fresh without being overpowering it will linger on my clothes days after I wash. And the price point is excellent as well.

You only really need about a tablespoon of detergent to get clothes clean, but I mised the Downy smell. This does the job.

Love these in my laundry sheets, and some of my clothes, like socks. I have also used them when washing some rugs and blankets. My kid keeps stealing some to use in her washing. The best part of these booster beads is that I am not allergic to them as the scent is not overpowering or chemically. Will continue to buy this one brand and smell.
