At 1st my husband was skeptical of this tool. He's been using a pitchfork to turn the compost but did give it a try. He came in the house and said how easy it is to use and I tried it, too. Works great, easy to use, and made to last. The size is just perfect and it's a good price.

I was skeptical in purchasing this, and though it a bit expensive. I've been hot composting for about 2 years, and getting the hang of it. But turning it is not fun! I have 4 - 3x3x3 made with pallets. This was so easy to use, a bit of arm work but totally doable. I'm 5'1" and 115lbs and it did not break the back. it was a quick twirl down, and then I twirled and pulled up to mix about 6 times in each section. I 100% recommend this over the old fashioned way of turning your compost with a pitchfork.

Just twist it and turn....this device can pull up the compost sitting in the bottom of the pile easily. It's more solid than it appears and works like a charm to turn compost pile. I used it to pull out a lot of dry leaves from last fall. Makes it a perfect match with all the grass clips from this season for an ideal brown/green ratio. Highly recommended.

Works as advertised. Very easy to bring material up to the top from bottom of compost pile using this tool.

I was reluctant to buy a specific tool for compost pile aeration because I've always just used a pitchfork and tossed it from one side of the wide bin to the other. But we moved and I no longer have a wide bin. We decided to use the portable plastic compost bins that are open on the top. I'm not content to wait a year for the compost to be ready and I want a hot pile, so this tool will make it easy to aerate the pile and mix the layers so it will heat up evenly. I'm looking forward to not having to lift and shift the pile to get it cooking. The tool is very heavy duty and rust proof. It's an investment because it's not inexpensive. But my back is going to thank me. I put it together in about a minute. I'm looking forward to using it to make a large batch of compost.

I don't usually leave reviews (good or bad), but I bought this because it was a bit cheaper than others like it and I was skeptical because the business end looked a little bit wimpy. But I didn't realize how anerobic the bottom of my compost was until I cranked this this to the bottom and had a really hard time breaking it up. The day after, my compost was steaming because of the aeration. My compost bin is essentially a 35 gallon plastic trash bin. This is perfect for bins just like it. It's just simply a great product.
