In our household I am the die-hard fisherman of the family! My husband enjoys camping and cooking/grilling. He is 70 yrs young and is very proud of the lifelong butchering skills learned growing up on this ranch and the river that runs through it. He has a butchering area in his workshop and must own every knife and tool needed for the process. Recently I was asked to help someone catch and remove all of the oversized catfish from their stock pond so the bass population will increase. In payment I get to keep all the catfish that are caught! I fish 1-2 days per week and bring home 2-6 large catfish each day. My husband has been working in the fields cutting and baling hay for himself and helping fellow ranchers. He comes home hot and tired. The last thing he wants to do is spend his evenings cleaning stinky fish! I would do it myself but, he feels that he can and he does do a much better job than I do. A win-win for me. After a few days of him facing piles of free fish I could tell that he was getting a little frustrated with this fishing job of mine. I was so afraid he would eventually say, "enough is enough! No more fish!" So, I decided that I needed to bite the bullet and find a way to help with this fishing project that would benefit us both. I decided to take a gamble on an electric fileting knife knowing he would probably have a fit! I certainly did not want to insult his butchering skills either. After a little research I decided on purchasing this Mershca cordless knife. It arrived a couple days ago and from first glance I was sold! The set is stored in a very well made and attractive red and black zippered canvas carrying case with a handle. I was very surprised to see that so many blades were included! Plus, the unit itself has one removable rechargeable battery. A second back up battery is included as well!!! Both batteries arrived pre-charged at approximately 20%. Immediately, I started charging the unit to have it ready to present to my husband that evening. Truthfully, I was a bit worried he would be upset that I bought the knives but, was so afraid that he would eventually get tired of cleaning and me having to quit my fishing "job". Needless to say, I came home with large catfish on ice. After supper I presented the knives to him as he set out to clean fish once again. He seemed appreciative but, I know that look... He was probably wondering how he was going to return the set after it had been used. Haha! OMG!!!!!! After cleaning everything in half the amount of time it would normally take, he came in the door pinging off the ceiling and skipping around like Snoopy doing his happy dance! He was so excited about the quality, power and lightness of the unit itself and the razor-sharp blades! He was speaking so quickly showing me every little detail of the set! I've never seen him so excited!! HE WAS HAPPY! He was especially impressed (with everything) with the strength of the batteries! He had to flip the knife over to show me how very little the lighted gage reflected the battery had used! There was still a good ways to go on the first battery and the 2nd battery had not even been used! I DO BELIEVE I HAVE HIT A HOME RUN WITH THIS GIFT FOR MY HUSBAND! THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE OF MY HUSBAND'S VERY FAVORITE TOOLS or should I say "TOY"! My life as a fisherwoman has been made so much easier! I don't dread his reaction of bringing home fish anymore.... HE NOW ENJOYS CLEANING THEM! Problems solved and two happy campers in this household! We cannot say enough about this Mershca knife! Life is good and I get to keep my fishing "job"! Yes, life is extremely good! 20 STARS!!!!!!!!!!

Why did I wait so long to gift this to myself? This is a great knife set. I love that it's cordless. I love that it's got a variety of blades for most of your carving needs. It's well balanced and easy to manage. Easy to dismantle for washing. Comes with a great storage box that holds everything in its place. I've wanted something like this for years and am glad I got it.

Purchased almost a year ago and the knife still works awesome. The many sets of blades come in handy so you won't dull one set of blades. Work great on filleting bass between 2-4 lbs and any pan fish. Although it will get warm after using to filet a nice catch of fish at once, its still worth the money. The batteries last a long time and charges rather quickly. Worth every penny.

You get a good selection of knives to choose from depending on what you want to use your knife for. It has a carving knife for hams or turkeys which is nice. A bread knife and a couple of fillet style knives. - I was able to clean fish for about 45 minutes on one battery. I noticed that the motor did slow down a little bit and my battery was at 20%. Did a good job. I have never used a Rapala knife or Bubba knife to see the comparison. It would be nice to do a side by side to see just how good of a deal this knife is.

Big hit!!! Such a better way to fillet big fish!! Makes it so quick and easy-peasy and yields better fillets with less loss. And to be able to do it on the boat - game changer!!! Holds a charge very well.

Couldn’t find my old knife so ordered this. Fish were still partially frozen after a day of e fishing and the knife worked flawlessly.

Purchased for fishing, excellent product, knives stay sharp and the variety of knives are a bonus for cleaning all sixes of fish. Batteries life is good. Price point is excellent. don't pay big bucks for the branded battery knives this works fine.

Très bon couteau. Les lames sont très tranchantes, coupent la chaire facilement. Les lames des couteaux rapala sont compatibles avec ce couteau. Le case de transport est parfait et pratique. Reste à voir pour la longévité car ça fait seulement quelques poissons que je coupe.
