Apparently new Windows versions require more power.
Upgraded power supply, now my HP desktop boots Windows again. Works great!

Great upgrade for HP.
Let me start with a short rant: HP is infamous for using proprietary cabling on their desktop computers. OK, rant over--I'm not very good at ranting. Anyway, this PSU was a drop in replacement for the totally inadequate (180W!) OEM unit. Now my computer runs even with a heavy workload AND a GPU added. (Although, if you want to add a GPU, you still need to check the power use of the card first, some GPUs can draw 400W all by themselves.) Anyway, this has solved my problem and it runs cooler than the OEM PSU.

Defective unit, weird noise’s
Waiting to hear back from customer service, I have the exact baker motherboard, I build computers so I’m 95% sure everything is connected correctly, each 4 pin is in there designated spot and it runs great, until it needs external power from the 8 pin which I have on the 4060 gpu which only draws 115w max. This is where it starts, not sure if I’m hearing an electrical sound, kinda like buzzing or coil whine, although coil whine is usually much higher pitch so probably not, the second I play a game it starts and the second I leave the game it stops instantly so I know it’s a power draw issue, never dealt with this before so hoping it’s just a bad psu. Just be cautious before you buy, I upgraded a hp te01-1114 hp envy from 180w to this 400w platinum efficient psu and used a 4060. Total draw is under 200w, Ill update this after hearing from customer service.

Reasonable choice - still, but be warned
Bought for an old HP PC 690 upgrade drom its original 180W PSU. So far runs without issues. Not tested: full power usage, not GPU or CPU upgrade yet. Edit 2025-05-17: I want to make myself clear, I still think this PSU is a good upgrade path for the very limited HP towers. Being said that, this PSU isn't in any way a 80+ PSU, less a PSU platinum as the label says, fortunately, the vendor never claimed that this model was a 80+ platinum, otherwise I could be disapointed with my purchase. As a suggestion for the vendor, please remove the 80 platinum from the label, because as I said before, this PSU is one of the few alternatives to get a decent upgrade on this size and ventilation costrained systems. With a test rig consisting of only the bare minimum components (NVMe drive, no PCIe cards, only integrated graphics) the original HP power supply measured a minimum of 0.94 PF, even with a minimum load; meanwhile, with the minimum setup, the new PSU only reached 0.54 PF, and with the full setup (around 60W more that the bare bones setup) It only got 0.6 PF. Attached are the pictures that show that the PSU lacks any kind of PFC IC or circuit

Wanted to add a graphics card to my HP TE01
This is an exact fit for a TE01-5012, new for 2024, which comes with a pcie 16 slot, but no power connectors for a GPU. This power supply worked perfect. Overall it might have been better to purchase a 500 watt power supply, but the price difference for the 500 Watt was over 3 times as much. So I just went with the 400 Watt. The power budget should be very acceptable on this computer with a low profile video card (like an Nvide 4060).

Did the trick
Worked just fine. I needed this to accomodate my new GPU. The legacy power supply was only rated for 180 watts. I put this new power supply in an HP-590-pxxxx series Pavillion mid tower. It's been running for a few days now with no issues. The screw holes lined up too!

Used to upgrade HP Pavilion TP01-1026
The original desktop came with a 180 watt power supply. I needed to add a graphics card for image editing. This power supply is an exact fit and came with the three correct connectors for the Baker motherboard. In addition it comes with a 8 pin PCIe power connector. This is not specifically mentioned in the product description but is important. After the power supply was installed and working I ordered a Geforce RTX4060 graphics card which uses only 110 watts. The combination is now working perfectly. I am very happy.

They appear to be working.. The only problem is that we had to test the product 2 times because you can barely hear it!! I do recommend this product.. Beware that sensors in the computer will not detect the product..
