Worth the time to assemble IMO
I have looked at this Sunny exercise elliptical bike many times, read reviews, watched videos, read the specs, and thought about it over and over. I don't like to buy something without being as sure as I can be that I will really use it and that it's the right version of whatever it is for me. I have a Sunny spin bike (SF-B1110) and it's very well built and operates really great IMO. For that reason, I didn't hesitate to consider this Sunny equipment now. I took a bad fall off of our deck almost two years ago and could hardly walk for months. Slowly I was moving more and now I'm moving pretty good but I still have trouble and lose my footing sometimes. I cannot get my leg up to step over the bar to get on the spin bike now. I need a step and still it's hard. Also, sitting in that position is hard on my back (after falling), so that is when I started thinking about this recumbent elliptical bike. In my mind it made sense that being able to sit with a backrest was what I needed right now. I really need a way to move enough to get my heart rate up and burn some calories and I thought that having the arm action would really help too. I finally went ahead and ordered one after looking at it on Amazon and the Sunny Health site for months. I'm so glad that I did. First, the box is big and heavy so unless you are the Hulk, I don't recommend trying to move it yourself. My husband and I managed to get it into the house (up four steps) and slid it into the house. Unpacking the box took about an hour. We opened the bottom of the box (long end), bent the flap back and then stood the box on that long end so that we could lift the box off of the equipment. It slid up easily and proved to be what I think is the best way to open the box. Next I spent time unpacking the various components which were nicely fit into styrofoam and taped on the outside so that nothing spilled out. It took a bit of time but I'm glad everything was packaged so well. That was enough for one day though! Yesterday my husband and I assembled the elliptical bike in the room it would be used it so I carried parts from the main room to that room and got a bit of a workout again. The heaviest component is the frame but I was able to move it myself. I think the instructions were good. The diagrams were a bit small for my eyes but that's what reading glasses are for. It looks complicated with all of the little parts and lines and labeling but if you read the instruction carefully and then look at the corresponding diagram, it will make sense. We worked our way through it one step at a time and didn't try to jump ahead when it was obvious that this should go here or that should go there. We waited until instructed because I didn't want to get ahead and then have to undo something. Getting the long axel into place (the part that the handles attach to, was a little tricky but there's a glob of grease in the tube and with a few little taps on one end the axel slid through pretty easily. Overall, I think this equipment is very well designed and made, and documented. It would definitely be harder for one person to build but that is possible. Working together it took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble, a little less. We took our time to make sure we got it right. BTW, it's not as long as I was expecting which is nice. One reason I hesitated is I thought the footprint would be bigger and that it would be this bulky monster of a thing. it's not at all and that is a pleasant realization. Even with my achiness, I lifted it using the handle on the bottom of the frame at the back and rolled it around to position it differently from where it started out. It's heavy but I did fine. Using the elliptical bike is a breeze. Just make sure you know how to slide the slide the seat forward/backward, step through the frame and sit down. Set your feet on the pedals to see if you need to adjust the seat, move it if needed and the go. It doesn't need to be plugged in to use however, if you want to use any of the programs or you just want to change the pedal tension, you'll need to plug it in. The plug goes into the front of the frame and then you plug it into a wall outlet. We have Maine Coon cats that like to chew on some things so, because the cord is one of those thin ones, I don't leave it plugged in. When I'm done, I unplug from the wall and machine and put it up where the cats won't get at it. I have not tired any of the programs yet, I'm still getting used to using it and working up to doing it more (don't want to overdo to start because of my injury). I expect that I will really like this machine over time and will use it daily and I'm hoping it will help get my legs stronger and back to walking better. The arm exercise will be great too. If you are thinking about this equipment and it appeals to you, I say give it a try. The only thing is, if you change your mind you'll probably have to sell it locally because you'll never take it apart and put it back in the box! Haha!

Perfect!
Update 10/21/2024: I have now been using this for 2.5 months and everything is going just as well as my first review. This still rides very smooth and quiet. I have played around with all the different levels and tension, many I would never be able to do as the tension can get very tough. Since I first started using this I have been able to ride longer, faster and with more tension with the arms and legs as well. I continue to gain strength and lose weight which is a huge plus. Between my husband and I, this gets used about 2 hours a day. I actually look forward to using this everyday. Still very happy with my choice. I have been wanting this Recumbent Cross Trainer for over a year, but kept searching all the options out there for similar products, going back and fourth reading all the reviews. I knew this is what I wanted and needed. I need to have double knee replacements, should have done years ago, and now I can't walk without a cane, and even with one, my knee sometimes goes out, therefore, I can't get out much, which results in the lack of exercise I need. I wanted this mostly for the arm exerciser because I wasn't sure I could use the pedals without causing more damage to my knees. However, I figured it would be worth it since I knew my husband would use both the pedals and arms. This arrived in perfect condition. Very well packaged. All parts were labeled well, and the instructions were easy to follow. My husband watched the online video on assembly before opening the package. Took him 2 hours to complete by himself. He had no issues, all parts were accounted for and assembled easily. Everything works perfectly. It is very quiet and smooth. I was able to download the Sunnyfit app and connect to bluetooth with no problems. The seat is quite comfortable and easy to adjust forward or back. The screen is simple enough to use. Easy to change programs and levels for what tension you want. This is exactly as described. I've been using this for an hour every day for the past 10 days, and couldn't be happier. The best part is, I found I can also use the pedals without pain to my knees, although going slow with little tension for my knees as a precaution. My husband is 6.1, I am 5.8 both in our 60's, (actually, I'm 59 but close enough) and we both use it comfortably. Very pleased with my choice, and after only using this for 10 days I've already noticed improvement in my strength and losing those extra pounds have been a blessing.

Great for a home gym
I’m at an age now where going to a gym with annoying young people isn’t my bag anymore. I want the convenience of working out at home and I only need a bike, a bench and some dumbbells. When I got the box it took two guys to move it, it’s heavy. I wrestled it on to my hand truck and got it to the room I’m using it in. Do bear in mind before you order, it is big, heavy and hard to move until you assemble it and then it rolls easily. I’m amazed it didn’t have any damage considering the box looked like it had been through a war. The styrofoam was also pulverized in some places. But the box and the styrofoam did its job, not a scratch on the bike itself, very impressive. Putting it together isn’t that bad. It took me about an hour and a 1/2, I went slow and took my time. I only had one misfire but other than that it went together pretty easily. I'd recommend only hand tightening everything until you're sure everything works then go through and do a final tightening. The quality is quite good considering the price. The overall construction uses a LOT of metal and is very solid feeling. The look is midrange which is fine for me. My only complaint about build quality is some of the drilled holes left the plastic shavings inside. Then they added the grease on top of that. The work needed to clean it out and then reapply the grease seemed way too much effort so the plastic shavings are staying in there. I do think it adds a bit of resistance but it’s not particularly noticeable. The screen isn't premium and if there's one place they cut corners it's the control screen, but it works. In use it’s great. It feels about 80% as good as a professional gym recumbent bike, This is quite good given that those gym bikes cost 5 or 6 times as much as this one, maybe more. It’s extremely quiet and I think you could literally use it right next to someone who is sleeping and cause almost no disturbance. I don’t think I’d get this bike for hardcore workouts. The pedal distance is not very long and if you try to really get this thing going hard you will find it has limits. It’s ideal for people who want to get into a low-impact cardio range and stay there without trying to pretend they are climbing Everest. If putting things together isn’t your thing you’d be well served to pay for assembly. I don’t think I’d use Amazon’s service, the people they send aren’t always the best. I clipped off a star because their warranty length is quite short.

Gym quality feel at an affordable price.
I'm very happy with my purchase of the Sunny Health Recumbent Cross Trainer. It is definitely worth what I paid. It offers upper and lower body workouts, several different adjustable resistance levels all with a electronic display that shows riding time, distance traveled, your current pulse rate when you hold the lower side handles and more. It also features a cup holder so you can stay hydrated while working out and an adjustable seat for your comfort no matter your height. And also has wheels at the front of the bike making it easy to move about wherever you feel necessary. I feel it's a good quality bike with good solid materials to last a long time.

Buy it
We've had it for a month now and quite impressed. Assembly was nothing special, not bad if you just follow the instructions step by step...and have a helper. Just leave the bolts in the coded blister pack until you need it/them. If you have them, use your own metric tools and you'll be happier. W/my sons help we had it together in 20-25 minutes but I would also say we are ranchers = tool guys. I am impressed by the quality, apparent sturdiness and fitting of the parts as well of lack of noise. It fits my 6'' 4", 34" inseam 310 lb. body with a few inches of room to spare on the seat rail while my 5' 2" wife loves it too. The only dings I can give it is the pulse meter is extremely sensitive to hand placement on the grips - if you're only a tiny fraction of an inch off the perfect grip it will give erratic or no readings and the usage/programming part of the manual could be better to get you started but will clear up fast with a little experimentation. Finally, the seat is well built and relatively comfortable but it sits flat and would stop some squirming/sliding around if it was slightly angled higher in the front helping to lock you into the rear seat pocket. Has really helped me with the bursitis in my hip!

Great recumbent bike!
This bike is 100% what I expected it to be. It’s very sturdy and it works smoothly. This bike functions exactly like the recumbent bike I used at physical therapy before and after recent back surgery. It was affordable yet still does the same job as the PT bike which I found was priced at over $5000. It’s comfortable to use and the controls and programmable display are great. Assembly is moderately involved and the bike is heavy. I had to have a friend do it for me due to my post surgery limitations. Actually ‘two friends’ initially, to unbox it and move it into the house. But with me reading the assembly instructions and being the parts and tools boy it only took about 40 minutes to put together. I highly recommend this bike!

Strong, sturdy and Quality
I recently purchased this elliptical bike, and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance and quality. First and foremost, it’s incredibly sturdy—you can feel the solid construction the moment you step on it. It doesn’t wobble or shift, even during intense workouts, which gives me complete confidence while using it. The comfort level is outstanding as well. The pedals are comfortable , sturdy and ergonomically designed, making it easy to maintain long sessions without discomfort. The handles are padded and positioned perfectly, ensuring a natural grip throughout. One of the standout features is how smooth the motion is. The stride feels fluid and consistent, closely mimicking a natural running or walking motion. There’s no jarring or stiffness, making it gentle on the joints, which is a huge plus for me. Lastly, the overall quality of the machine is excellent. From the premium materials to the attention to detail in the design, it’s clear that this elliptical was built to last. I also appreciate how quiet it is—perfect for early morning workouts without disturbing the rest of the household. This elliptical bike is undoubtedly a great investment for anyone looking to improve their fitness at home. It’s reliable, comfortable, and delivers a high-quality workout experience. Highly recommend!

MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE USER MANUAL (LOCATED FURTHER DOWN ON THE ITEM'S PAGE)
IF YOU PURCHASE THIS, YOU MUST DOWNLOAD OR PRINT OUT THE USER MANUAL that's on the product page. Why, because there are no instructions on how to assemble this exercise bike. THE DOWNLOADED MANUAL PROVIDES INSTRUCTIONS. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of that and at $699 and I thought it would arrive with instructions on how to put it together, but it didn't. There was one thin 15 page "Quick Guide", the 15 pages divided and repeated in 5 different languages. There was one diagram of the completely assembled, and very heavy, machine and one page with pictures of the separate parts, labeled with the font so small (2 font) that I needed a magnifying glass with light, to read the parts number. The only small diagram showing how the nuts and washers were assembled was for the hinge bolts. That's it. No 1, 2, 3 . . . steps in assembly, nothing. You are left to your abilities to logically assemble the 30 pieces. There were no instructions on how to use "meter" that sets the program resistance and measures the time, calories, speed and pulse rate. You are left to figuring it out yourself. Fortunately, I was able to assemble it and if you are mechanically inclined and can picture in your mind how the assembled pieces are supposed to work, you can assemble it as well, but it will take some time. I suggest you start from the floor (front and rear stabilizers) and work your way from the back seat assembly, and then forward. Since writing the above, I have downloaded the manual and used the machine. I'm very satisfied that it is easily adjustable and useful at a beginner's low resistance and higher resistance with a number of functional exercise programs (from a steady resistance to variable resistance). Aside from the initial package arriving without instructions, I've now upgraded my rating of the product from 3 stars to 4 stars. Good product for the price!
