Purchased for son for Christmas. To be fair, we have not had this toy for very long; therefore, I cannot speak to its longevity. That said, so far, I'm so pleased! To speak to some of the less favorable reviews-it is small....very small. Personally, I really like the size, both for storage reasons and based on my 4 yr old son's complaints that his other, very nice remote control car was "too big, and too fast". I think for a younger child, this dump truck feels manageable and easy to control in a way that some of the other options do not. Also, to be clear, while it is small, it is definitely not slow. Also, so far, the battery life has been AMAZING. We have not had to recharge at all and have used it, off and on, for 2 days. In the past, the fast "trick" cars we have had run out of charge so fast that they end up being useless and forgotten. I like that this truck is easy to use, has good battery life and has at least some metal elements (though mostly it's plastic). It has a lot of great features, including lights and an "automatic" mode that results in the truck spinning and moving all on its own. If you are shopping for an older child (6-8) and size matters, this truck might not be for you, but IMO it's perfect for the 4-6 age range.

Functionality is excellent! Many different functions with lights! Excellent quality! Happy with purchase :) 2 Rechargeable batteries!!! 3 year old learned how to control it quickly and loved it!

Big hit with Kids. Any child that loves remote control vehicles will love this. Charged up quickly. Love the demo mode.

My 6 year old loves playing with this dump truck. He will load it up with wooden blocks and go dump them.

My son is 3 years old and he's never owned an RC toy. So for Christmas I got him some tractor related stuff, not really knowing how this would be received. We got the box and I thought it would just be kind of cheap. I was wrong. Upon grabbing the xcavator I could tell it was built well. We git it going easily and WOW.. the cab rotates, the arm has full articulations and it tractors over terrain easy. I was surprised at how capable it was and yet my son acclimated to it quickly too. I felt the speed of it was good. Not fast enough to lose control and slam into walls like most rc trucks.. We've used it pick m&m's out of a bowl, Ibuse it to grab his toys and pull them around or even to tip over or his 18"×7" toy garbage truck or pull it back on its wheels. Honestly the parent is going to have just as much fun as the kid.. maybe more. We did a little rc 4x4 truck vs xcavator (fighting) and while I didn't really want to damage either one, I will say it is tough and up to the abuse. Has gotten a couple wins too lol. All in all it was money well spent and can be used in many creative fun ways, indoors or outdoors. I like to grab his stuffed animals or other toys with the arm and pull them away from him. He gets a kick out of it. Battery lasts well too,

My nephew is obsessed with this. He is 2 and it was the perfect birthday gift! He loves using it to pick up sand and rocks. It’s durable, and functions very well. We’ve had no issues with the remote or functionality of it at all. It’s actually a great price for what you get!

Very cool when it works. We’ve already requested a replacement as our first one the scoop function was not working. The second arrived and within 1-2 weeks it is already malfunctioning. Now the second one is scooping and digging randomly without touching the remote controller. Have tried replacing batteries and charging excavator battery and it is still not working properly. My son loves this and we are so sad it is not a reliable toy. Not worth the money at all unfortunately.
