Excellent portable speaker
Great little speaker battery last ages and the base this little speaker puts is excellent. Overall sound is excellent and the build quality is brilliant, very robust. Would highly recommend if you are after a portable water proof speaker. Excellent value for money.

Really Great Device - highly recommended
Bought this for my wife as a present. She's very happy as she can listen to her phone in the kitchen for her music and audio books. It means we've retired the CD Radio now making a lot of space on the worktop Its very easy to use - opened the box, turned on, opened Bluetooth on the phone and connected immediately with no issues. Its connected every time its turned on which is great I was amazed at how great the sound quality is from such a small device - very crisp and clear with just the right amount of bass. It can crank up the volume if needed and still keep a good sound as well Its really very small and surprisingly heavy. Its covered with what appears to be black rubber and I guess this gives a better level of robustness in normal use and provides the waterproofing (which we have not tested!), although marks don't wipe off that easily - I think because of the type of coating. Despite this coating the few buttons are easy to use and have a very clear and positive action and tactility We didn't charge it from first use and the battery lasted about 4 weeks of use which is quite impressive. The charging is via USB-C behind a pop-on cover to maintain the waterproofing In summary - very impressed

Excellent in quality and value
Can't really ask for more from a very moderately priced speaker. Very good sound, not at all muffled, good base and excellent charge hold. Very happy and I would certainly recommend this speaker.

Really very good. Not as good as perhaps some claim, but very capable and hard to beat at this price for sure
First impressions are good, I like a nicely packaged gadget, and this was way better than expected. With all due respect to Anker, regular Amazon shoppers will be familiar with their huge product range, and it's not exactly a Sony, a Bose, or any other premium brand. Some reviewers have the pictures, so you'll notice the packaging, it's not plain brown cardboard, and it's not bulky and oversized. It's relatively pleasant, shrink wrapped and you get the impression you're opening something that wasn't bought on eBay and waited 3 weeks to arrive... A good start then. You open the box, and remove the speaker, and you immediately notice it's weight. I'm pretty sure this is a speaker wrapped around one of their external battery packs, hence it's weight. Still, if weight is directly proportional to quality, we are looking at a great product :-) So, turn it on, and for me, you get a rather tacky sounding power on sound. Still, it sure makes you aware it's turning on. A similarly tacky (my opinion, don't hate me for it!) sound greets you when you turn off too. Anyway, pairing it was as easy as you'd expect, I did it with my iPhone 7, though it'd be just as easy with any BT device I'm sure. Paired in seconds. Pairs every time I turn it on as it remembers the last device that connected, which is a nice feature. Right, so how does it sound? Well, for someone like me, who is a sucker for wanting the very best, then you're probably going to say it's OK. BUT... Consider the price of this, the size of this, and the competition out there, and you alter your expectations. At this point, you realise this is a very warm and pleasant sounding speaker at low to medium volume. It's probably the best I've heard at this sort of price range, easily the loudest. With the sound low, the bass is obviously not trying too hard, and it sounds really very good. It's at this sort of volume you feel that there's some real weight and amplification going on, that many Bluetooth speakers just don't have. Turn the volume up a little more, and you'll notice it's not so crisp, and it can sound a little muddy. I think at this stage you really have to accept what this is, and what you can expect it to be. It really is very good, but it's not superb, excellent, amazing... I honestly didn't expect it to be, but as with many reviews, sometimes you read somebody's opinion, and you're left wanting, no, needing the product in question. What I have to point out is this... It IS NOT as good as a BOSE. It's really not. It can get just as loud, but it's not, and it really couldn't ever be, as good as something so much more expensive. Still, I really do question if there is a better speaker out there, in this price bracket. I've heard many recently at an airport Dixons, which was full of them. The usual suspects at this price range, certainly don't shame this speaker. The JBL Go I have, is quote simply awful in comparison to this. It's loud and very clear, but this Anker shames it when it comes to warmth and bass. I know there's been documented improvements in the Bass of this compared to the original sound core, but I still wouldn't expect much. It's not what I'd call a bass heavyweight. I have an older Creative speaker, that's quite a bit bigger than this, and that delivers a far superior sound, but it bizarrely can't deliver the volume that this smaller speaker can. A quick note on the mic/call quality. The mrs called me yesterday and I answered this in my kitchen via this speaker. She didn't complain once that I sounded feint or distant, and I moved freely around the kitchen and it was excellent. I can't say I'll use this feature much, but it's a nice touch, and re-assuring that they didn't just skimp on a particular feature for the sake of having it there. Finally, the quality of this. I can't fault it at all. I don't think you'll mistake it for a BOSE, but you won't pick it up and think it's cheap either. The finish of the casing is that nice to touch soft plastic, which may scuff quite easily over time (think phone case TPU but slightly more matt), but on a black speaker I think you'll find it wears quite well. If it's genuinely dust and water rated, that's a huge plus, and I will not be testing this aspect myself, but that's something missing from anything else I own. So, 4 stars it is then. It really is a great speaker, especially given the price and size, but there's room for an extra start if I'm being critical. It would be so easy to give this all 5 stars, but you need to know, that if you are picky, and have an ear for exceptional sound quality, you will not find it here. Still, I am sold on it, so you should be too!

Anker Soundcore 2: The Budget King (5/5)
If you are after a Bluetooth speaker that delivers premium performance without the premium price tag, the Anker Soundcore 2 is a brilliant choice. It punches well above its weight, offering a blend of durability and audio quality that is hard to find elsewhere. Design & Usability The design is fantastically compact; it is small enough to slip into a rucksack or handbag, yet feels reassuringly solid with its grippy, rubberised finish. Plus, the IPX7 waterproof rating means it can handle the unpredictable British weather or a poolside splash without issue. Tech shouldn't be a hassle, and Anker understands this—the "connect and play" setup is virtually instant, maintaining a rock-solid Bluetooth connection throughout the house. Performance: Music & Work Audio performance is where it truly shines. The 12W output delivers surprisingly rich sound with punchy bass, making it perfect for your favourite playlists. Crucially, it doubles as an excellent tool for work; the built-in microphone ensures your voice is crystal-clear during conference calls, making working from home a breeze. Battery Life The standout feature, however, is the endurance. It boasts a massive 24-hour battery life. You can leave it cranked up to max volume for an entire garden party without needing to hunt for a charger. Verdict Considering the extremely competitive price, this speaker offers incredible value. For anyone needing a rugged, reliable all-rounder, the Soundcore 2 is simply a top-tier bargain.

Fabulous sound speaker!!
Fantastic bit of equipment!! I had originally purchased this to hook up to my phone and blasts the tunes out while rattling those pots & pans in the kitchen. But the first time I tried it I knew it wasn't meant for my phone....so it is now hooked up to my smart TV and I use it as a sound woofer speaker and blimey it does not disappoint!!. Very classy and smart looking speaker, I ordered the black one, and it just looks so slick & expensive. The sound quality is fab and I loved listening to my music, but as I mentioned earlier, I decided to hook it up to my smart TV and see how it sounded....over the moon with it, means you can place your little speaker anywhere in the roon while watching the tv. Best thing I have bought in a while. Fabulous speaker & sound quality.

All round a great little speaker
I just couldnt resist at this price, I already have Sony speakers which I love, they are individual so you get the true stereo separation, but if I take them out to my shed they get covered in dust due to my DIY jobs. I have many Anker products and they have never let me down over many years use, so I didn't hesitate to purchase this speaker, I did read a number of reviews and they are mostly good. Its relatively tiny in size but surprisingly weighty, meaning it won't vibrate and bounce around when you turn up the volume. I actually kept the thin cover on it to protect it from dust in my shed, I tried it out listening to the football and some music and I was pleasantly surprised, it has a crisp, clear sound with an exceptable level of base at this size and price range. It fits neatly on one of my shelves and when I turned up the volume to almost full there was no distortion at all. The only thing I would change is the rather loud and daft sound it makes when you turn it on and off, who thought that was a good idea ?, just have a short beep please !, I will check the instructions to see if you can turn it off. Overall, I think its a great little speaker and fits my needs perfectly, it will also save my Sony speakers from getting damaged.
