Bose SoundTrue Ultra In-Ear Headphones for Apple Devices - Charcoal Black

I hope this review is helpful to you. If you have trawled through the reviews here on amazon for this product then I think you may be hesitant. Firstly , I noted all the reviewers complaining about the noise transmitted from the cable. Absolutely not a problem with mine , I guess make sure you are buying from a trusted seller and getting 100% genuine Bose product maybe the most obvious thing to point out. I’d imagine there are some third party fakes in existence. I’ve had so many pairs over the ears and years and never before enjoyed such light and comfortable phones, they sound smooth , detailed , balanced. Straight away I was into a long audition and they just get better and better. The volume gadget / in line remote is in just the right place , no tangles on the cable and nothing unusual regarding cable noise picked up from clothes movements , walking / running / cycling etc. Most importantly they stay in my rather big ears , which in my defence are not disproportionately sized to my being. Apple buds are forever sliding out of my ears and sound awful to boot, I never bother with them and if you are looking to enjoy your iPhone music so much more then don’t hesitate , buy now. I bought them on Black Friday price and worth every penny. I can’t speak for their durability at this point but I don’t anticipate any problem with normal careful use. But frankly if they lasted 6 months to a year only , I’d just buy another set as I really think they are that good and will get used a lot. I enjoy dance music , electronica , pop , jazz , classical , rock , indie and all types of music and find the Bose SoundTrue ultra to indeed be very true with all types of music. No lack of kick but definitely not bass enhanced like some other products. In fact listening to some anjunadeep house at this moment and the bass is very defined and certainly not lacking , it’s exactly in line with the other frequencies and not overblown but very much there for sure. Absolutely loving these things , so glad I bought them. Really can’t understand the poor reviews , they are so comfortable and light , you forget they are on. They do not pressure anywhere , light as a feather and i haven’t experimented with the different size buds but for me they worked straight out of the box. No messing about pushing them in , out , shake it all about etc. Only to find the damn left side has dropped out of your lug hole once again , these just sit there perfectly in place regardless what I’m doing active or not. Then , coupled with the sound quality , these are a wonderful purchase. 5 stars without question , great product. This is a genuine review and to balance I had some Bose on ear once that were pretty disappointing. The Bose SoundTrue ultra for me are a total revelation and I thoroughly recommend for active listening on the move , commuting , whilst working or just quiet listening at home. I was ready to return them if they were lacking but I really like them , keeper!

I received these in good time. As with all Bose products they were well packaged. The earphones come with 3 different size in-ear adjuster - small medium and large, so they should suit most people’s ears. It is simply a case of plugging them into your device using the jack and start listening - with none of the charging issues you get with Bluetooth devices. The sound is excellent, as it should be with Bose. These are not noise cancelling, so there is some outside sound, but it’s quite muted. The wire does cause a problem, when you catch it the noise travels and you can hear it above your music. This only happens if you are moving, but is resolved if you use clip to secure the wire to clothing, etc. I suspect if you are jogging, you may wish to choose more suitable headphones. These were on Black Friday offer, so for under £50 I am well chuffed. They also come with a little case, which easily slips into my bag - lovely added extra touch which saves tangled wires.

Despite their glossy advertising, Bose don't have a particularly good reputation; they're very expensive, their products are cheaply made with up-front reliability issues, but technically they seem to work well. Reviews of their headphones are full of praise and certainly their noise-cancelling circuitry is the market leader, but longer term feedback shows that many of them - perhaps up to a third - fail fairly quickly. With all this in mind I decided to take advantage of the Black Friday deals at Amazon and bought myself a pair of Bose SoundTrue Ultras. These are noise isolating earphones which sit on the ear rather than actually inside the ear canal, and so are more comfortable to wear for long periods than conventional earbuds. A good seal is still needed to obtain full hi-fi sound, especially proper bass, but I had no problem with my set using the medium sized eartips. I ran them in for 48 hours on mindless local radio and then they certainly worked as specified. The sound quality is clear and sweet, to me very slightly warm, with a full and extended bass. Of course, not in the same class as full sized headphones, but good enough for travelling or just out and about. The sound isolation is very good with only sharp noises getting through. The steady hum or drone of trains and planes is quite muted. Crucially though, they are comfortable to use; the extensions on the soft silicone eartips hold them firmly against the outer ear but there is not the unpleasant pressure and sweatiness you get with conventional earphones jammed inside your ears. A clever design - I like them! Highly recommended, although I hope mine last longer than just the guarantee period.

While absolutely no issue with sound quality, the 'cord noise' issue was significant enough that it was, I'm afraid, an instant return. Have read elsewhere in comments that this maybe a fault (rather than an actual design flaw) but I suspect it genuinely is a flaw. Of course it could be due to the 'seal' formed by the variation on the stay-hear tips found on this product. (Suffered no such issue with last Bose ear-phones and is certainly not an issue with the Sports version I bought after returning these). While other comments indicate that the cord noise, while present, did not put them off much, I found it to completely over-shadowed any other qualities the product has. If you want to benefit from the excellent sound design on offer from Bose, you should not have to overcome the noise equivalent of someone banging a steel tube over a crash helmet every time the cable brushes against your clothes. On returning the product, I picked up the cheaper Soundsports version. No discernible reduction in sound quality and loving them as much as my old Bose ear-phones. Even if you are not sensitive to the cable noise, you are wasting your time with Sound True Ultra. The noise still interferes with the music.

Die "SoundTrue Ultra" kommen in der gewohnten soliden Bose Verpackung. Dabei noch zwei Uhreinsätze zum Wechseln - nämlich L und S. Die Größe M ist bereits drauf und dürfte in den meisten Fällen auf Anhieb passen. Das Kabelsystem ist komplett überarbeitet. Das Kabel selbst ist ein wenig dicker und damit robuster und an dem Punkt, an dem sich das Kabel für die beiden Seiten teilt, ist ein T - Stück eingesetzt, welches die Kabel sauber getrennt nach links und nach rechts ableitet. Sehr gut gelöst! Die Kabelfernbedienung ist auf der rechten Seite und besteht aus drei Tasten: Die mittlere (abgesenkte und damit gut spürbare) Taste ist für Start/Stop, Track vorwärts/rückwärts sowie Anrufannahme und beenden gedacht. Die anderen beiden Tasten sind für Lautstärke höher bzw. runter. Im Prinzip dasselbe wie auch beim Bose Soundlink Kopfhörer, nur sind die Tasten da noch deutlicher getrennt. Aber in einem KH Gehäuse ist das sicher einfacher zu machen, als in einer so kleinen Kabel Fernbedienung. Von daher kann das kein Kritikpunkt sein. Der Klang der SoundTrue InEars ist - einfach gesagt - sehr, sehr gut. Ich will nicht wieder alles in Bässe, Mitten und Höhen zerlegen, weil dies ohnehin extrem subjektiv ist und dem jeweiligen persönlichen Geschmack unterliegt. Der Eine liebt kräftigen Bass (zum Beispiel ich...), der Andere kann das nicht leiden. Von daher empfinde ich das Klangbild des Bose als sehr ausgewogen. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Angenehm über die gesamte Bandbreite. Es ist einfach schön, seine Musik damit zu hören. Besser kann ich es eigentlich nicht beschreiben. Was aber extrem wichtig ist, ist die Wahl des richtigen Ohrstöpsels...! Die Klangfülle wir dadurch erreicht, dass der Gehörgang sauber abgedichtet wird. Abgedichtet - nicht gewaltsam zugestopft. Das Silikon der Aufsätze ist sehr, sehr anschmiegsam und passt sich hervorragend an. Besonders, wenn es nach ein paar Minuten Körperwärme hat und dann so gut wie nicht mehr gespürt wird. Nur - bitte - solange ausprobieren, bis man tatsächlich den optimalen Sitz im Ohr hat. Ein zu kleiner Aufsatz lässt alles am Rand entweichen. Ein zu großer Aufsatz wird Falten bilden und wieder alles am Rand verlieren. Nur mit dem optimalen Aufsatz kann auch der Klang optimal sein. Bose liefert eine kleine Tragetasche dazu. Und mit "klein" meine ich tatsächlich "klein". Die Tasche, die beim Normalen SoundTrue Innar mitgeliefert wird, ist etwa doppelt so groß wie die hier beigelegte. Klar bringt man die InEars auch da rein, aber ich denke dass es nicht schaden kann, wenn die Dinger in ihrer Tasche ein wenig Platz haben. Aber da auch das nichts mit der Qualität der InEars zu tun hat, fliesst es nicht in die Bewertung ein. Denn da geht es um die Ware selbst. Und nicht um Zubehör oder die Lieferzeit... Viel Geld, keine Frage. Aber auch hervorragende Qualität.

I got it frm a bose store. I have 4 bose namely 2 soundtrues, 1 soundsport, 1 soundsport wireless n this one soundtrue ultra. Apart frm these i have senns 300x, street, creative 630, soundmagic es18, sony xb50, jbl 150. Denon ahc 260. Niw coming to high end or mid budget goe shure se215, senn momentum in ear, sony a1ap, klipsch r6i, RHA T10i n all bose Out of the above i enjoy music from bose ultra n RHA n also bose soundsport wired. Let me tell u fir bass freaks. I was also one f u a yr back n was never satisfied with any earphones fr bass. But never thought abt quality f music n vocals. These ultra babies r perfect. They let out the most balanced audio output that i have heard si far after the RHA. Mids- perfect. Little recessed but u wont notice. I m happy. U hear natural vocals. Bass- perfect too. Little bit bloated but could b due to the tips. But no regrets here as we all need some bass, isn't it?? It is though not overpowering n indeed u feel the presence as n wen u need. I have nderstood tht after a year tht its not only about bass. Treble or high range- superb. Like rha u hear all the instruments n many times u hear nuances tht u may not have heard before in ur music ir songs. While writing this review m listening to electronic music n maan such a crisper sound f drums guitars etcc. Super cool The dynamic range is not tht wide but i bet u will njoy every kind f music. I have thus fr more tht a year but thought to write a review only now after seeing many negatives. I hve seen abt wires been corroded. But guys u have to take care of ur belongings. I have all the earphones intact n few f them are 2+ yrs n no problems whatsoever. Lastly bass lines lovers.... music is not all abt bass. The bassier earphones provide bass even n normal songs n ruin them. While they do justice to songs which has deep bass but still f u listen to balanced sound u will forget bass. Also the people who don't own these babies will definitely say tht they dont like it. M adding a pic f my ear phine collection. Buen producto, buen sonido, todo muy bien. Lo único es que me hubiera gustado que la bolsita para guardarlo tuviera un clip para colgarla en mi bolsa o junto con un llavero, de ahí en fuera todo muy bien

I have owned every model of Bose earbuds,(except noise cancelling) more than a dozen pairs over the past 7-8 years. I was happy with the basic model (I listen to audio books and music) more than 8 hours per day, 7 days a week. I purchased sound true ultras when I came time to replace worn out set. Sound quality, crazy good. Loved them. Went to replace as the cord split at base. Snafu, picked up the sound sport by accident. Terrible. Sound nothing close to ultra. Tinkered with eq to improve sound. Nope. Bought ultras again. Fabulous. One flaw. My hypothesis is the inner cables are wrapped with too much twist tension, causing the cable to twist over time and use until it becomes annoying. Small gripe. And I have to use a lightning to 3.5mm dongle instead of just plugging into phone. I have done a fair amount of research on earbuds, these are in my opinion the very best. In sound quality. One last note: the silicone earpiece fits into the ear canal, eliminating a good deal of ambient environmental noise. Although not noise cancelling, I would not recommend using when riding bikes or jogging outside where hearing surrounding noise is required for safety reasons. The sound sport allows virtually unobstructed clarity of surrounding sounds. You will love them! There might be a bettter sounding unit, but not for 129.
