Nice little “gadget”
Was looking for something to help cut down a few branches here and there, and to prune a few trees/bushes. This does the job, here are my takeaways. Never used a small chainsaw before so I didn’t know what to expect. The bigger ones have obviously more control of movement and cut because of the power behind it. This one has a good torque. Comes with 2 batteries and a plug-in charger. They charge quickly un about 2 hours or less, and hold the charge for a while. I’ve used it for a couple hours on and off, and it still has a charge. It cuts better a thicker branch (or very small tree) than it does thin ones because of the flexibility and movement you get from the branch itself. So it’s a bit “bouncy”, make sure you have control of both the branch and the chainsaw. Comes with gloves. DO WEAR them. And find better ones too (I’ll be looking: these aren’t that thick or super protective). Reason being, the first cut I made, I was holding on to the branch and I thought it’d just cut through but it bounced back and hit me on the other hand. I was lucky I let go of the trigger fast enough, and that the glove part stopped the chain, cause it put a hole on the glove, and it’d probably have cut my thumb. (Ugh!) That’s my bad, I didn’t expect that recoil; it may probably be a bit of inexperience with such smaller tool, and a bit of the fact that it’s so lightweight and you are the one that needs to have more control over it. That said, it cuts through great, but a lot of smaller branches get ripped a little, and edges aren’t a clean cut. The tip part of the chain cuts better in that sense, so change the angle you’re using it at. Keep your other hand several inches from the cut, for the above reasons! Now the important part: the oil. There’s a little bottle that’s for the oil for you to keep the chainsaw greased. There’s a trick to open it to fill, which I did not think about it until I started pulling and squeezing the tiny vessel: the top part just pulls out, opening to fill. It could be done better or identified in the manual. There is also no place on the chainsaw to put the oil in for it to self-distribute. You actually have to oil the chain itself. How often? I don’t know. It is not explained in the booklet. (This part isn’t addressed at all other than in a small picture at beginning of booklet). And this is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. After how many cuts is one supposed to oil the chain?? Speaking of the booklet, there’s not much in there other than for how to change or tighten chain, plus safety/warning info. It should have a bit more detail imho. That all said, I read reviews on a lot of other chainsaw before choosing this one. It also had a plus at time of purchase, a $20 off coupon, and let’s not forget the 2 batteries it comes with. Those were my deciding factors. I picked the pink one cause it matched some of my other tools (silly I know-but reviews were pretty positive on this model). I have no idea how long this tool will last. But for around $50 I’m not complaining too much. I’m glad I figured out the oil bottle, cause I wasted a lot of bar chain oil from my bigger jug just to get the blade oiled, and it’s messy. All in all I like it, and I’d buy it again.

These tools are useful buy a newer model
These 6 inch chainsaws are a useful tool. They are light so you can use them one handed while using the other hand to steady the branch or pull back foliage. So far no real issues. I worry about chain life and I would suggest getting one with an automatic oiler. You have to buy bar and chain oil and they include a tiny plastic bottle to manually apply to chain. One with an auto oiler or push button dispenser would be vastly better. With this one you need to constantly apply oil or have it break. That is not time saving Otherwise it does cut branches and leaves little sawdust as it's size doesn't produce much. I have not used it long enough to know the battery life but it comes with two batteries which is good Using these mini chainsaws is a legitimate tool. You can forget about loppers and cut multiple small things at the same time. The needing just one hand and being light weight is where they shine. The chain looks delicate. Time will tell but be sure to keep up the oiling or you will have problems. With the exceptions noted I would give these a thumbs up. I got mine using a coupon and some credit so it cost about half as much. I would suggest comparing then and buying on sale. So far so good though, it is doing the job it claims to do and makes work much faster and easier. Try one out.

Small but incredibly strong! I love this saw!
I ordered this cute little chain saw in hopes that it would be strong enough to cut some small branches. When I got it, I used it to cut down a woody vine on a 70 ft wall. It took me 4 hours, and lots of elbow grease, but I was successful! Although a old woody vine isn't typically what you'd use a chain saw to cut, this little chain saw did a great job! I wasn't expecting the saw to be able to do everything I needed to do, but I was pleasantly surprised! I did have to use my tree clippers a few times, the chain saw cut through the thick (up to 3") vines easily. I was also impressed that that battery lasted the whole time. The one mistake I made was not oiling the chain regularly. I think it would have worked even better and easier had I oiled it throughout the job. Yesterday, I used the saw again. This time, to cut large branches off of a tree. I changed the chain, which was quick and easy, but you do need to make sure you have it on correctly, as in the sharp side of the teeth facing the correct direction. 😆 The saw cut smoothly and easily through the 4"-5" branches without resistance! I was very impressed and grateful! I am also impressed with the customer service that I received. I contacted them about a small issue and they were able to alleviate the problem, and the person I worked with was very kind and understanding. This is the kind of customer service that I appreciate. I would never hesitate to buy something from this company again. I highly recommend this little chain saw! It greatly surpassed my expectations! I also like the safety glasses that came with it. The saw also comes with safety gloves, an extra chain, and an empty bottle that you can fill with chainsaw oil. I don't use the safety gloves as they are too big for my hands, but it's nice that they were included. For reference, I'm a 5'3 woman weighing 145 lb and I was able to use the chainsaw easily. It is very lightweight and comfortable in my hand. I like that it also has a safety switch that I can easily turn on when not using so as to avoid any accidental injuries. If you are considering this saw, I say just go for it! You won't be sorry.

I am an older woman who just wanted a simple, small chainsaw to cut down the branches that fall off our trees every winter without having to count on anyone else's help. This chain saw is small, light and easy to use. I have only used it twice, each time for about an hour. I did not have to change the battery either time. The chainsaw fit in my hand comfortably and cut the limbs, 1-4" in diameter, smoothly. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants something simple and light. In fact, when my husband saw how easy it was to use, he came out to help with the work without even being asked. I did have an issue with the chainsaw early on (probably caused by my complete lack of knowledge in the tool) but the customer service rep, Anna, was incredibly helpful and she rectified the situation quickly. Both the chainsaw and the customer service were better than I could have hoped for. Just a couple of tips for newbies to chainsaws, when you have to tighten the chain, loosen the cover about a 1/4 of a turn and then tighten the screw for the chain to about 2mm (or 1/16") give. When chain is tightened, then tighten the cover FIRMLY. Check the chain often when using, although we found that once we figured out how tight to make the chain, AND TO VERY FIRMLY TIGHTEN THE COVER, the chain stayed snug throughout the job. I now understand the appeal of power tools, even if it is a lil power tool :)

After using this saw for two seasons, I absolutely love it. At first I had some trouble getting the chain tension right, and it fell off twice before I got it right. The screw adjustment is a little tricky but once I got it tightened it was fine. Manual oiling is not a problem, just use plenty and it doesn't need to be constantly re oiled. The battery life is quite good, lasting an hour or more of intermittent cutting in the woods, plus the second battery is great to continue on. I am left handed and I chose this model because it was advertised as left friendly: it certainly is. Secondly, the weight of the saw is so light, it's extremely easy to use and carry. I only once had a 'kickback' type issue, that was cutting thicker green wood close to the ground and it jerked forward due to the pinch. Not a big deal but user should be aware of chainsaw safety, and keep your body parts out of the plane of the cut. For greener or thicker wood, cut a vee first to avoid the pinch. I will mention that I afterwards bought an 8 inch saw to tackle some bigger things, but was surprised at how much more it weighed. The 8 inch is at the limit, for a person my size, to comfortably use one handed while bracing with the other hand, but I did find that my elbow on the bracing arm got jerked a bit too much and got sore. I also couldn't carry it around all day without feeling the weight. So unless you're a big guy, if you're looking for a safe and easy tool to cut one handed, the six inch saw is a great choice.

I have a blue spruce in the front corner of the yard that is about 40 feet tall. I had to clean up the bottom branches as they were starting to encroach onto the sidewalk and road on the other side. After an initial charge of both batteries I set out to prune the bottom 8 feet of branches. The saw worked extremely well and met my expectations. It was easy to handle and not heavy at all making this pruning job much easier as it allowed me to use one hand to hold the branch and the other to cut with. A full size chain saw would have required another person to hold and move branches. Clean up after the work was easy and I put everything back in the convenient case that the product came in. It came with a full spare chain which I did not need to use but have once the original one becomes dull. The only thing that was a struggle was that as I used the saw the chain became loose over time and needed to be re-tightened frequently. Also, would have been nice had they included a small bottle of chain oil as I did not have any and had to purchase it separately after cleaning up the blade to store it. Overall I recommend this handy tool for any home owner for small projects and give it a 4 gold star rating.

bought this cordless chainsaw for my husband to use, and he loves it! It’s powerful, easy to handle, and gets the job done fast. The battery lasts a long time, which makes it perfect for longer jobs. Great quality and worth every penny

First i thought what an awesome saw. i bought it for using in my SXS when i go riding to clear a trail if needed. I used it 2 times and not has a problem. The third time i went out i made sure the batteries are charged and one was and the other needed a charge , but i did charge it after last use. Just as a joke i went to use the saw and the battery was dead that i picked out of the case. ( i just charged the battery a day before. The second battery was good and did the job. I bought the saw 8 months ago so off course return is no option. So i wanted to contact seller if i could be send a different battery, but you can not contact anyone at all. So i contacted Amazon and after telling them there is a 100% money back.. Amazon took the saw back and offered me a refund. Thanks to amazon but to bad about the seller. Update: i somehow could not contact the vendor maybe it was my fault. So the vender contacted via message me but i did not reply. So i contacted Amazon and they where going to give me back my money, but they also showed me how to contact the vender. So i did finally replied and all i can say is WOW. What an amazing company to deal with. With no questions ask the where going to refund me my money or send me a new battery. I asked for a battery. I think it took f=like 10 days to get but i was ok with it. Looks like an updated battery that works. I change my review form 1 to 5 out of 5 because of the customer service.
