Great idea, could be better built
So this millet or treat holder for birds is a great idea. It’s designed to hang in a cage horizontally. Anyone who has birds knows how messy millet can be and it ends up a mess on the bottom of the cage. Well, no more! Every bit of millet gets eaten and the birds toss the sprig on the cage floor. I will say that it’s construction is a slight bit flimsy. Definitely appropriate for parakeets and small Conures, but I would not use this with larger birds like African grays. Plastic is losing its shape a bit but still holds the millet quite well. The millet holder has three supports that have holes drilled through them so you can slide the Mile in the end or tuck it in from the middle and the drilled out holders keep it in place, mostly. It has simple metal hooks on the back so you can hang it anywhere on your cage that has horizontal bars. It will not hook to vertical bars. You get what you pay for. And this was totally worth the money even if I have to replace it

Perfect for my blind parakeet
My parakeet is blind. He has been blind since 5/18/2022. The millet holder turns out to be perfect. Everything that I purchase for him must be low or on the floor. The millet holder sits on the bottom of his cage. He was able to find it but tripped over the perch. So I cut the perch off for his safety. He loves it.

Great idea but needs to be stronger..
Works as it should but the perch is pretty flimsy. Looks like it may break off when the birds moves on it.

Not good quality, why so many good reviews?
I bought this for my cockatiel because she likes to fling her sprig of millet around while eating it. I thought this would help contain the mess, but I was very wrong. First I couldn't even open the thing so I had to slide the sprig in from the side which knocked some millet off already starting the mess before she got to it. Then hanging it on the bars of the edge of the cage it was just two unsturdy wires that didn't hold onto the bars just kind of rested over them, but not secure. Third the platform even if the wires held the thing to the cage bars, the platform was too thin of plastic and can't even support a small bird on it. The combo together made it just awful and unusable. I threw it in the trash. Don't bother with this one, try something else!

Interesting design
Bought this milet holder to prevent mess. I like how it lays flat. The small hooks on back move to easily so it's hard to get it in place. They are shorter hooks so it's not as secure and don't lay flat to the back of the cage and creates uneven positioning. The plastic is a little on the thinner side . But overall it works ok, I'm hoping to see in the hear future better more secure mess free millet holders

The Perfect Millet Holder
I received the millet holder two days ago and my birds (2 green-cheeked conures and a cockatiel) just love this holder. They went right to it and began eating as soon as I installed it. Unlike some others reviewers, I had no trouble getting it to stay put. I didn't have to bend or adjust the little metal hooks in any way. The holder is easy to remove, clean and refill with millet. Since the holder is horizontal, most of the mess stays in the tray for later disposal. I recommend this millet holder above all others. Update: I still recommend this holder, but I will admit that the life of the holder is limited. My birds quickly figured out how to work the locking section in the middle. They finally just chewed off the locking tab so that the holder doesn't fully close. Even so, the holder still holds the millet since it's horizontal. I'd guess they'd have to make this out of metal to withstand birdy destructiveness. I'd buy another one when this one is kaput.

Good idea, poor implementation
This is a great idea to keep the mess from millet sprays from going all over the floor. However, the implementation of this item is really poor. First, only the middle band (shown under the bird head in the picture) actually snaps onto the bottom. This means that the millet spray is only captured in the middle. My two birds have figured out that they can pull the spray out of either end! The two outside bands must meet the bottom and provide no support or structure. The perch is thin and flexes under the weight of my two parakeets! I have observed the bounce when there is one on the perch and the other lands on it. The mounting wires are easily bent and you will have to bend them to get the holder to sit securely on your cage, otherwise, it comes off easily. The mounting wires hook over a horizontal bar in the cage, the holder is rounded and the perch extends quite a way from the holder/cage. It doesn't take much to cause the holder to rotate and come loose when a bird lands on it. Bending the mounting wires in prevented this, but makes it much harder to install the holder when refilling. Overall, this could be a much better product if these issues were addressed.

Has held up well
This has worked perfectly for our bird. He is an older guy who can easily get all the millet he wants.
