Despite the warnings from other buyers and the fact that it is made in China, I bought the device. Unsurprisingly it did not work. A refund is on the way. Hopefully that will work as it is made in the USA!

Very Good product and works as it it intended for. Just make sure you get the right one for the job. The Gig loopback is different from the RJ45. Although technically both are RJ45 structure, the internal wiring is different. These loopback are great for Analyst remoting-in and conducting their own company proprietary test on their machines.

Having a reliable way to quickly to check for a port failure is a must. Doing a quick loopback test is a fast, easy way to check a port. I like the design of this device because all of the wires are tucked inside the body.

Works as it should. I knocked off stars because of the loop for the keychain and difficulty activating the release. The loop got in the way of the release lever, making the plug difficult to remove. After I cut the loop off, things were easier, but still not a lot of space. I'll look for one that's a little longer next time.

I purchased this item and the gigabit version. I have tried every combination of the item on the end of an Ethernet cable to directly plugging it in to the port on the switch. I never get the blinky lights. I have tried plugging in to a port that is functioning before I remove the Ethernet. Still nothing. Doesn't seem to work at all.
