The filter it self is high quality built , you can tell by how much it weigh, by the strength of it, no signs of rust and the seal is absolutely robust. Having that 1" wrench fitment makes the handling of taking that filter in or out super easy and simple. I have a Dodge Nitro 08, it is basically a Jeep Liberty KK - The oil filter there is one of the worst designs I've had ever seen - even with a 1" socket I could not fit a wrench there but taking just a normal nut wrench made that task doable! All I have to say is thank you K&N - I will order this product again.

I've used these for years on all my vehicles. It makes it east to remove with the 1 inch nut on the end. It cleans the oil well and saw thus when i had my engine rebuilt in my ranger. There was little dirt in bottom of oil pan after 150 k miles.

These oil filters are one of the best on the market. They are well made and the hex nut on the bottom of the filter makes removal and tightening a dream

How does one know if it is filtering well? These used to employ Americans but are now outsourced. It used to have a great quality name. It fits, is easy on and off, and I like the nut for removal. I expect it does it's job and K&N has a good reputation so it still works for me, I guess. According to the research I have done K&N is supposed to be top quality and I have had no problems. It is $4 less expensive from Amazon than at the local car parts store (O'Reilly's that replaced Checker) but they quit selling them locally, so, good price here, and fast shipping with PRIME. I would not consider buying a cheap oil filter and feel K&N is a name brand with a good reputation. 2nd choice would be Mobile 1. I use this on my 12kw generator with Mobile 1 synthetic oil. I also used to use K&N filters on my Dodge Stealth.

Quality is good, no issues, and the functionality of the top is great

I always used this model in my Saab 9-5 Aero (2002), there's nothing better. I seem to recall some brands being just as good functionally, but with the strength of these, the ease of removal, the only thing that made me wonder if it was the best was the old packaging boxes, they've made these forever and no one has yet to make one that works better.

The Performance is way better than the rest. Another + to it is that it keeps your engine cleaner by removing 99% of particles as small as 10 microns.. The other filters cant say that, Fram filters (and i mean all of them) filter best at 20 microns. That means it does not work well at filtering particles (dirt, metal, rocks, etc) smaller than 20 microns, therefore meaning K&N High Performance Oil Filters will keep your engine cleaner, longer.. Remember kids, the Smaller the micron (ex. 10 microns), the Smaller the particle (dirt, metal, rock) will be.. The Bigger the particle (ex. 20 microns) the Bigger the (dirt, metal, and/or rock) will be.. Thank You for reading and learning why filters are made for.. Michael "El Jugador" Moreno A.

On a Lexus LS400 the fitmen is very tight. There's a couple of 15mm bolts that need to come off to remove a structure bar in order to screw in the filter, and most likely it will have to be done again to remove the filter. It's quite larger than the OEM filter so this was expected anyway.
