This is the first corded vacuum I've ever bought. I bought a cordless one before this and it was absolutely horrid so I returned it and tried this instead. I don't have much else to compare it to but so far it's been an excellent purchase. These two pictures were on the lowest setting and only half of the house vacuumed. For reference, I have two cats so it's picking up all their hair, my hair, and cat litter/dust! It's so powerful, I can't even use it on my runner rug in the hall, I have to use the hose attachment in that, otherwise itsucks the rug off the ground so forcefully, that I can't even run the vacuum back and forth. My only complaint is that my own hair gets stuck in the rollers so I have to pull that out by hand as it never reaches the dustbin part. Also the side that the rubber hose attaches to the rollers doesn't have much brush part on that side so there's a good chunk on that side that doesn't 'brush the rug' every pass. Other than that, this vacuum has very clear instructions on how to clean it, including removal of the brush roll to get my own hair out of it, as well as how to replace parts like the rubber hose. I have no comments about stairs as I don't have any, the vacuum isn't too heavy to me tho, I didn't care much for the triangle hose attachment, I tried on a part of my couch my cat really 'haired' up and it did poorly, so maybe it works better on the floor. The regular hose attachment worked perfect on the couch tho. This vacuum is also not as loud as I expected for how powerful it is.

I’ll try to keep this brief. Got the Dyson ball vac. It’s Dyson, right? What could be better? Well, this Bissell is better! The Dyson is IMPOSSIBLE to pull across carpet, even low pile carpet. So… I dragged the Dyson over my shag area rug section by section and got a workout I really didn’t need or want. It was frustrating and exhausting. There is no way I want to struggle like that every time I do housework. Just ran the Bissell over the same shag rug (and my cat has been staying at my daughter’s so there should be very little to pull up after the Dyson episode) and LOOK! I was momentarily worried it was going to be a problem to push as well, but it turns out it was just a learning curve and not the vacuum trying to permanently affix itself to the rug via overly intense suction. Super easy and effective on low pile carpet and bare floors. Super long cord is really nice to have and the auto rewind is a fantastic bonus. Very happy and highly recommend!

Excelente compra

I am one who invested in a much heavier and "made to last" vacuum in the past. I've dealt with $500 Riccar for the past 5 years and the ever so classic Kirby vacuum. They are best for fixing as you go but I just did not want to take my vacuum to a shop to get fixed again as I had family coming in and knew I needed a vacuum asap. I researched a TON of vacuums from $100-$300 price range and they all had their own flaws. Not wanting to invest too much I looked at vacuums between $100-$200. The lower cost shark had reviews claiming the hose breaks easily, and the other low cost vacuums had similar issues like that rendering it useless. The biggest issue with this one in the reviews was dog hair getting caught under the belt... so I got this one and just frequently check the belt. The suction is AMAZING and compared to my Riccar it happens to clean up more dog hair. (The photos show only 5 days between vaccuming in my home) My Riccar has a self adjustable leveling system while this one is manual with 6 different choices. From the photos you can see in my main living area I have a very short area rug but in the bedrooms I have very tall thick carpet. I think this helped get the dust and hair better! This thing can suck and clean VERY well! The only thing I hate.... it's not self propelled. This really stinks as I have RA and it can be a little hard on my joints (I'm only 25 and it's still tough) but for the cost, I can just tough that part out. All together for its cost this is a VERY good vacuum. Just be sure to take care of it. Empty after each use and keep the cord away from it when on. Check the belt and change the filters every other month. When taken care of, I'm sure this will last a couple years minimal.
