After a wide-ranging search for a privacy shield for our diningroom windows--considering blinds, cling-film, and other options--I decided on calligraphy paper. The window arrangement is three smallish 3-way windows (screen, storm, glass) in a row on a fairly short wall, at eye level. Our neighbor's house, with directly facing windows, is about 8' away; both houses are set back from the street by 15-20 feet, meaning that at night someone driving by would clearly see through a front or side window of an illuminated interior. We wanted to provide privacy but not fully block the sun (these windows are north-facing), and not draw attention to the windows from inside the house. The paper is a perfect match for our soft-white walls and is also slightly translucent, so the windows retain a glow of light. We covered only the lower half of the windows, so we still get the full benefit of our northern light during the day. I've put small vials of cut flowers on those window sills, and the effect is of a display of botanical art. Buying the roll of paper meant buying much more than we need, but it also means we can refresh the paper whenever necessary and meanwhile have a lovely medium for calligraphy or watercolor art if we are creatively inclined. VERY happy with this product!

I purchased this roll as a clever/artistic way to cover an entire shelf of books (in my guest bedroom/office) that had mismatching colorful spines. I already had brown Kraft paper but I felt all brown would be too drab. The con of the brown paper (I already had) was it was so thick for the job that it's causing paperback book covers to be pulled ajar. So that brings me to the pros and cons of this "White Kraft Arts and Crafts Paper Roll": Pros: - Very malleable for covering various book cover materials and sizes. - Easy to fold and did not tear. - Was wide enough, at 18", to cover even my tallest resource books. - A nice crisp, pure white color. Cons: - Extremely sheer! But I managed to remedy that by cutting out an additional strip just wider than the width of the book's spine to tuck in under the cover to act as a double layer which seemed to do the trick nicely. Overall it was a minor inconvenience that was easily remedied and I was appreciative for how easily the paper folded and stayed laid down. I do enjoy the overall aesthetic of the books now. In the pictures of a book closeup you'll be able to see where I folded the Kraft paper and where I added the second layer to the spine as it's more opaque than the center of the book cover where you can clearly see the title and cover image.
