Char-Broil Universal Fit H Burner

My husband bought this to replace the one we had in our grill that wasn't working. This works great easy setup and we are grilling almost every night this summer! Good quality great fit and does the job perfectly!

Easy to assemble and works great

I just love the easy installation of this burner plate for my Char-Broil grill. I would recommend that you buy a new sparker or ignition system, the old on came apart. I did make a bracket for the time being, I ordered a newer model. This burner plate makes for faster grilling and more even, as the old burner had seams separated, allowing flame from these areas. I do clean my BBQ before putting away for the season, during future checks, I will use an inspection mirror to see the seams under the burners itself. The fit and finish was one of the best universal mounting systems and took just a few minutes to get all functions working. The clips hold the gas tubes to the valve look cheaper, but hold is very strong, without any slip offs.

Great for the price and works well too

I bought this product to replace the burner on my 37-year old Char-Broil grill, which I have had to do several times because the burners rust out every 3 to 5 years. This burner might actually last a little longer because it seems to be made of a heavier gauge metal than the previous ones I have purchased. Time will tell. As with every "universal" replacement burner I have installed, I had to make some modifications to this one to get it to fit properly and operate safely. The gas tubes on my grill go straight down to the burner controls which are located in the center post of the grill, so they had to be shortened by a few inches. The flexible gas tubes are easily cut with a sharp utility knife, and I was able to re-attach them to their respective flanges, and used twisted utility wire as a hose clamp to secure them. The burner's "feet" also had to be shortened to make the burner sit lower in the grill, just as the original burner did. These types of modifications are completely normal for getting a universal replacement burner to fit my style of grill, so I wasn't bothered by them at all. In summary, I am very pleased with the quality and construction of this product, and would not hesitate to buy it again. P.S. In case you are wondering... the reason I buy universal replacement burners for my grill is that when I called Char-Broil to try to get an exact replacement, they could not even find my grill's model number in their records because it is so old!

We needed to replace the deteriorating internal components of our Broilmaster grill, includig the H shaped burner. We finally did find an original Broilmaster replacement, but at about four times the cost of this universal burner, and without the gas supply connections. We decided to take a chance that it would fit the grill, partly because of the great price, and also because the universal replacement already had the attachments to make connections to the gas supply. It was very easy to install, fit our grill perfectly and has a very even flame pattern. We're happy with the H burner replacement and looking forward to using our grill again.

Fit old BBQ easy

The Char-Broil Universal Fit H Burner does a good job of providing even heat for grilling, which is essential for great cooking results. The burner feels sturdy and well-made, but I found the installation process a bit tricky—some adjustments were needed to connect it properly in my grill. Once installed, it performs well, but it may take some extra effort to get it set up right. Overall, it’s a solid burner for the price, but be prepared for a bit of a learning curve during installation.

An excellent replacement burner for my 20 year old BBQ. OEM part was very expensive. This was about a third of the price. Burner feet / legs and venturi tubes were very simple to attach with a simple #3 Robertson. Once legs were adjusted, connection of venturi to the gas tubes was simple, with no modifications required. This entire H burner is about 1" shorter on its length than the OEM one. That's about 1/2 " on each side. Negligible. Difference not even noticeable. Burns clean and hot. I'm happy with performance, and with the purchase. If anything negative, it was shipping time. Took a long time, about 3 weeks. I was warned about possible delays caused by severe shipping / delivery backlogs due to pandemic. Further to my initial review in 2020, I wish to add the following. Two years on, the H-burner is still in excellent shape. Minor rusting noticed along seams, but not enough to affect performance. This is to be expected. What was not expected was the catastrophic failure of one of the venturi tubes. It has become totally detached from its mounting plate. The tube itself is in good shape, no corrosion or whatever, just a failure of where is is connected to mounting plate. Not enough flange surface on plate to jerry-rig a repair. Bummer. Will have to replace the venturis.

I installed this burner in a very solid 20 yr old Broil King that needed a new burner. Now this unit works as well or better than new.Its interesting how the old burner slowly corroded and the heat became slowly uneven. The BBQ now cooks beautifully. The installation took less than 30 min. Patrick.
