Don't let my stars detour you.
Ok I want to clarify the questions that affected the star ratings don't do the stars justice. This is a GREAT package for the price. No need to spend any more if you're only looking to monitor your children. 1. Picture quality / 4 - No this is not an HD 4k blah blah camera, but it is GREAT quality for great value. You can see your children with no issues, although it is not "crystal clear" but it doesn't need to be. The night vision is awesome as well with no issues telling if your fussy children are playing around still. 2. Battery Life / 3 - The battery doesn't last SUPER long (haven't really timed it) but I try to leave it plugged in anyway, only removing it from the chord when I am on the go about the house. 3. Sheerness? - This shouldn't have been a rating question, should be replaced with quality, so that's what I rated it on Quality / 5. The cameras come with everything you need to mount them, the mounts are stable and have adjusting knobs so you can position it any which way. The monitor in no way feels cheap, and the features are awesome, with the bonus of night vision you also get a cute color changeable night light, and projecting stars (but keep in mind if you mount near the ceiling the projected stars aren't all they could be). If you plan on mounting on ceilings or near, keep in mind the chords aren't SUPER long, I had to mount mine about 1 foot off the ceiling) so they're probably about 6 foot chords. Be sure to get some cable covers if you're using for a toddlers bedroom. Now that my rating questions are out of the way, with a little extra details. Here's my experience and why I wanted these. I have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. They play as kids do, and no fair to my little girl she can't quite talk yet, only being able to say a little bit. So my boy is ALWAYS "telling on her" or one of them gets a boo boo and only he can tell the story, like Mr. Teddy did it. So we decided to get this monitor set and put one in each of their room without telling them. During playtime we watched and discovered Little mister likes to throw things at the camera (which he got a timeout for and explained not to do that, since he's old enough to understand, but he may have not known what it was beforehand) and little missy likes climbing on her toybox and trying to fly (which she got corner time for and a big NO NO NO, since that's what works for her lol) Both kids are now aware of the cameras (its been like 3 weeks or so now) little missy loves the night light, music, and stars. Where as little mister is always cautious with what he does, never knowing if he is being watched or not. We don't always monitor them we let them be kids, but I'm telling you since purchasing this I have seen a big difference in how they play with each other and I'm glad we didn't wait any longer. We put a stop to ruff playing and dangerous actions before they developed any further. The piece of mind a simple camera can bring can change the way your child develops, and based on how you react can be for the better.

Amazing monitor!
We have only had this monitor for a couple of days, but so far we love it!! We tried it on a whim, because there were only a handful of reviews, being that it was a new product on Amazon. The few reviews it had were fantastic, so we gave it a shot. I'm so glad we did!! We had a Summer Infant monitor for our first daughter. She is almost 4, and it still works pretty well. It's basic, but good quality. We were hoping to find another one from that company for our youngest daughter, but we couldn't find one for our needs. We tried a Motorola one instead, and it was pure garbage! The sound constantly cuts out, the picture quality is poor, and the battery is horrible! It could charge all night, and then die as soon as we take it off the charger. Other times, it's fine. It's never consistent. Needless to say, it was a huge waste of (a lot!) of money, so we decided to search for a new monitor again. I've been doing research for a few months now, and nothing popped out at me. The reviews were always so mixed, and it didn't give me a lot of hope. I looked again last week, because I needed SOMETHING functional at this point, and stumbled upon this product. I am so, so glad I found it!! The picture is amazing, it's a large monitor so it's easy to see, the battery is really good on it, and the reception is awesome! We were able to get it to reach way further than the other monitors we have. It has all of the features I've been looking for, and then some! I can't say enough good things about it. It's still early, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint as time goes on. If you're struggling to make a choice in which monitor to purchase, I HIGHLY recommend this one!!

Love it!
Purchased this to keep an eye on our puppy who loves to sit in the chair in our 2nd bedroom to stare out the window. The video quality is perfect, I love that I can talk to her when I need to, turn the screen dark, love that there is option for multiple cameras, and the option to move the camera angle around so that I can see if she moves from the location I expect her to be in. Only had for a week but battery life suits my needs usually lasts the entire night. My only wish is that Vtech had an outdoor camera that I could use to watch our dog when she goes outside and to watch the property. Overall, will be purchasing another inside camera when it is needed and would recommend. Update Month 2: Batter is still making it through the night (4PM-10PM) but noticing if I do not charge it at night then I won't be able to have it off the charger for the time I need it (4PM-10PM). It takes 4+ hours to get it charged. At this time, this is not a problem for me but I know this will be in the future and for many of the others reading this review it is a problem they should know about and be able to consider before purchasing this monitor.

Good option for the price
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Good pricing, great options, and not too fancy. I know my kiddo is safe sleeping now because I can actually see him and hear him. The night vision is amazing, better than my Blink in home camera actually. Some times the temp sensor doesn’t show the temp on the screen. And the battery life will say it’s low but after I turn it off and on it will say it’s a little higher. The battery life is good, it last me 2-3 days if I use the snooze option. 1-2 days if you leave the video on for all naps and bedtime. DO NOT use while it’s charging. That kills the battery! Ease of setup: Just plug in and turn on. That easy. To hang it on the wall, you do it just like a picture frame, two screws and done. Functionality: Super easy and simple.

Great camera!
Great value for the money. Super easy to use; it’s very “plug and play”, just plug it in and it works right away. The sound is good, temperature seems accurate, no lag, seems pretty sturdy. I love that it doesn’t use wifi, the battery lasts a good while, I like that it flips through both cameras, the night vision is good as well, no lag.

The sound is absolute garbage
Update 1 year later: I got this setup originally in late 2023 a couple months before my November baby was born as this was for him. I'm changing my 3 star review to 1 until vtech does something. Vtech has a sepearate customer service page just for their baby monitor systems. I contacted them months ago over the temperature icon suddenly disappearing. No reply. It reappeared eventually though so I never bothered reaching out agaun for it. As of having it for a year now though more issues have popped up and the biggest one being one of the three cords has stopped working. Won't charge the monitor or turn on the cameras. It's just. A dead cord now. Second, the monitor hardly retains as much battery life anymore. The battery life for the monitor over time has gone down a lot which has made the cord issue all the bigger because if i need to charge the monitor I'm down one camera. Three. One of the cameras now has rotation issues to the point where it fully stops mid rotation, chugs along funny, and turns at the pace of a snail. I contacted vtech asking HOW i could replace the cord last week at this point. It's been almost a whole business week with no reply. And I thought I'd add this fun picture since having this system. Vtech claims it can only have 2 cameras. My monitor has glitches a couple times to have this screen and I was lucky on the second time it happened to catch a Pic. Still can only have 2 cams but :( I'm sure there's enough videos that I don't need to add my own but this video monitor while great for the price is absolutely crap sound wise. It was right next to a room and could not pick up on one of my kids crying bloody murder when we could hear him across the house. Monitor has issues picking up on sounds next to it altogether. My kid has screamed at the monitor and not only does the sound lag it hardly picks up even at full volume. The other con for this thing is the image quality is super meh. If you wanna see if the kid is sleeping or breathing the image fuzzes so much you can't even tell if their eyes are closed. The battery quality also is weirdly 50/50 on how long it lasts. We'll charge it fully and it'll either last hours near the full time it says or half that. No changed settings. It also does not do good near any sunlight. Ruins the image entirely. We have curtains in the room we have this in and sunlight just icks it. It cannot face the window at all. Some pros to this are its night vision. The night vision is pretty bright and I'm decently impressed with it. The two way talk is nice as well. My kids can definitely hear me through it. Though it is a little bit of a con for them that we can't hear each other at the same time if they make noise back. And that the camera mutes itself any time it moves. This camera also has no invert features that will allow you to change the image set up of the camera. Like if you turn it upside down on the hanging mount your side images are goofed. So to have the image perfect without goof you will have a blind spot directly down. And to add to the sound being garbage I turned on the music. Super loud on the parent unit. Actually went out to hear it myself and nothing. Barely anything. It is what it is. So overall to sum it up despite its low price for a double came monitor...if ever comes to need to buy a new one or replace...I would not buy this one again for my needs.

The best split screen I found despite flaws
We have a 4.5 year old and 1.5 year old and have had multiple monitors over the years (original Infant Optics Dx8, Vtech newer model) and when our other (newer model) Vtech broke after just 13 months I ordered multiple baby monitors with 2 cameras to find a good replacement. We ended up with this one, despite its flaws. Pros: -split screen with sound from both monitors (not at the same time but it monitors both and switches sound to the one that makes sound) - many monitors I tried had Split View but wouldn’t monitor both sounds at the same time, that kind of defeats the purpose of Split View if you have two kids. -decent range of volume for the parent unit. You can have it very quiet (at night) or loud (at a party). Many other monitors wouldn’t go quiet enough for my liking. -Vox mode: this turns of sound and screen (at night) and turn the monitor on when it detects sound from the baby (you can adjust the sensitivity of this so it doesn’t turn on for white noise) - my 4 year old likes the projector and night light but note that projector will not stay on all night - super easy set up -good kick stand (vs our precious vetch that had a different monitor stand that would always fall over) -intuitive monitor with buttons that make sense (volume control, switch cameras without needing to go into the camera menu) Cons: -bad picture quality at night, at least compared to others. This wasn’t a deal breaker to me since my kids are olde but I wouldn’t love it if I had a newborn and wanted to see exactly if he’s breathing etc. -very zoomed in frame, not wide angle. Some monitors I tried showed me a lot of the room, this one is very focused even when installed across the room. -heavy-ish parent unit. It’s 5” which is fairly standard size but feels heavy. If you carry it around a lot that may bother you. Overall this is the best monitor with two cameras and split screen that I could find for my needs (older kids).

Doesn’t last
This camera lasted exactly 15 months to the day. It was OK, video and audio quality were reasonable for the price: you’re not getting HD quality, but you can see your kid and determine what they’re doing easily, it functioned well in that regard. My issue is that over the last 6 months the video monitors battery has slowly crapped out, regardless of how often/long it’s attached the the charging cord the “cordless” feature only functions when it feels like it. You may get 10hrs off cord or you may get 10 min. The battery meter is inaccurate and not a measure of how long it will last. If you only ever intend to use it on the charger, great, it functions well for the money. If you need to move it from room to room (like a normal parent existing in their home..), it’s not guaranteed to work. If you only need it to work for a year, this is a great buy for the cost.. but if you’re looking for a long term solution you might be better spending the extra $50-100 now and not having to spend it twice, plus the difference in a year.
