I have a Rigid shop vac that I've had for years, and not too long in it got a kink near the the Vac side. I guess what bothers me is that it's a good shop vac, why do they give you a terrible hose? It still worked but you'd have to watch it. I could probably replace it with the same thing, though I did not easily find one online, but really didn't search that hard because I hate it. So after looking for generic replacements (either difficult to find quality ones, or maybe they were crazy expensive, I don't recall) I found this and decided to try it. Cut the hose and kept the two attachment ends, used the clamps to attach to the pieces. A bit risky, but I figured I could make it work one way or another, even if I had to use duct tape. But that did the job, works great, didn't take long to do, and it would be very hard to kink this thing. Just what I hoped. It does contract when you turn it on, but doesn't cause a problem at all - it actually seems better - doesn't stop you from stretching it out easily if you need to. So couldn't have gone too much better. The key/thing to tighten the clamps sticks out a tiny bit, but doesn't seem to get in the way at all - I didn't even notice when using it., and I could always get a different kind of clamp if I needed to.

Great replacement for an old, cheap-o hose that split open between the helix.

The clamps barely fit over the hose, they should be 5” min
