Just bought more! Great for DDD neck pain & migraines!
So much better than dealing with a bag of frozen peas! I feel like at this point, I’m an unofficial “expert” in shopping for ice packs. ;) I have severe degenerative disc disease and deal with debilitating chronic neck and back pain (and chronic daily migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, severe arthritis in knees, hip arthritis/bursitis, SI joint issues, etc.), so I’m constantly treating my pain and inflammation by rotating using reusable ice packs throughout the day and night. I have an entire shelf in a wider style/French door style freezer dedicated just to keeping ice packs cold at all times. Over the past 10 years, I’ve tried several different brands and types of reusable ice packs—clay packs (don’t stay cold long enough for my needs, too small), super expensive squishy gel packs with spandex fabric covering (feel good but don’t stay cold for long, and are also heavy for their size and require sealing in zip top bags during freezing so they don’t expand by absorbing water from the small amount of humidity in the freezer), flexible gel packs (similar style, “guaranteed” but only last 6 months or so before leaking). But it seems even the most expensive ice packs aren’t durable enough for the amount of frequent, constant use I put them through. I purchased 2 of these and as soon as they arrived yesterday, I popped them into the freezer (which is set to the coldest setting), and they froze rather quickly. So far these appear to be just as well made as the ones that are the same size and shape but cost 2x as much. And while the liquid inside makes a “crinkling” sound when frozen, they still remained fairly flexible, even when frozen for several hours. I have no idea what some commenters are talking about when they mention that these freeze and become rock hard— after 5 minutes or so at standard room temp (~68 degrees F), the ice packs are flexible enough for me to wrap around my neck. And here’s what I’ve found over the years- when an ice pack is advertised to remain completely flexible when frozen, then it’s most likely not going to remain cold for very long. So it’s a trade off: if you want a REALLY COLD ice pack, it will probably be a little bit stiffer at first. It’s not that big of a deal for me to let my body heat and the room temp help soften the ice pack for a few minutes. I use ice packs so often that I sewed some fabric covers that happened to fit these perfectly (just a long rectangular tube shaped “narrow pillowcase” of fabric, with a button on the open end, and an elastic loop sewn into the seam of the other end). I highly recommend that you always protect your skin from the cold temperatures by placing a thin kitchen towel, t-shirt or large bandana, etc. between you and the ice pack. I used one of the ice packs last night while I slept and it remained perfectly cold for several hours, even under several layers of warm bedding. I’ll update my review if anything changes, but so far I think these ice packs are well made and worth every penny. These are such a good deal that I’m planning to purchase at least a couple more, since I rotate them so frequently. EDIT: One month later and still going strong! just purchased 2 more, so I can rotate using them throughout the day/night! These work just as well, are holding up just like the ones I used to buy that were 2x the price! So glad I found these!

Stays pliablevwhen cold
I’ve been looking for a shaped gel icepack that doesn’t become stiff when it gets cold. The reviews all said this one stays pliable. I’m happy to report that it is pliable when cold and works well. The shape is good for my shoulder, I just had multiple surgical repairs and this ice pack really helps.

Stays cold for a long time, the material is comfortable and soft
Overall I'm very happy with this. The material is excellent, very soft and smooth. It's constructed well so the seams are not rough at all. It's quite a nice size for a neck wrap so it covers a lot of area. Best of all, it really does stay cold for a long time which is not usually my experience with these. It freezes quickly and it can become a bit rigid after being frozen for awhile so I suggest taking it out about 10 minutes before you plan on using it if you want to shape it around your neck. My only complaint is that I wish the arms were a little longer. I'm pretty petite and I have a little trouble getting it to stay on right if I'm moving around at all. I'm not sure how it would work on someone with broad shoulders as it may be harder in that case to get it to stay put so I'd check the dimensions if that's the case for you. There is no way to fasten it but it might not be as comfortable to wear if they tried to add that. Despite that minor issue, I don't regret getting this and am quite happy it stays cold as long as advertised.

This is a game changer for women going through ANY stage of menopause!
I am a 50-year-old woman going through menopause and this honestly has changed my ability to sleep comfortably. It lasts for three+ hours and you only have to put it in the freezer for like 1-2 hours! I HIGHLY recommend this. I just ordered two more today one for my sister-in-law and one for my older sister who are going through the same thing!

NOT FLEXIBLE AT ALL when frozen - very misleading product description BUYERS BEWARE!
As some others have pointed out in the reviews here, magic gel is claiming a lot of things in the product description for their cold pack that are flagrantly FALSE! When I take this cold pack out of the freezer it is ROCK HARD and takes at least 20-30 min to become flexible enough to wrap around my neck and shoulders. I have to keep it in the refrigerator or it becomes totally useless. This product is advertised as a "gel" ice pack, however after seeing it in action myself I have to assume that the manufacturers cheaped out and didn't put nearly enough gel in the solution... It's mostly water inside which is why it becomes as hard as ice when it freezes. I bought two of these for what seemed like a good deal, but now I'm realizing that I just threw my money away on a garbage product and I'll be returning the second one I haven't used.

Will freeze SOLID.
It's an ok wrap, well made I guess, needs a covering to be applied that does not come with it. Was ok the first time I used it after being in freezer for roughly 4 hours. Left it in the freezer for 48 hours and it was frozen solid, to the point that it was not flexible enough to wear. Guess I'll order another ice pack for my neck and use this one for the cooler.

Very happy with it. I bought it initially for my oldest daughter to cool down the allergic reaction in her neck from cowmilk. It soothes the itchiness and burning feeling very well. I ended up using it also for my youngest daughter who had high fever. What i like about it, is that you can shape it, even when it's frozen. I ended up buying a second one.
