After moving to North Texas several years ago, I noticed right away my hair/scalp felt yucky. My scalp never felt clean and my hair was becoming more damaged as time went on. Back in Ohio we'd had a water softener, so I looked for something that could be attached to myshower head. This has been a game changer! My scalp feels sooo much better and I notice that I requires less shower gel to get a good lather going. My skin feels better, also. If you're dealing with scalp issues, the first place to start is to get the minerals/deposits out of the water you're using to wash your scalp! All the products you try won't make a bit of difference if the water, itself, is not filtered. While our City tries to filter it, it can only get so much out of the water, so in the end this cleans it before it reaches my scalp or body. Be warned, though. Since it has a filter inside, when you move the temperature knobs it can take a minute or so for the water to change temp. as it has to run through the filter inside. So be patient and you'll have a much better showering experience. Depending upon how many use this shower filter, keep an eye on how often you need to change it. It does come with a shower head, but I just buy the filter system as I use my own beloved shower head. For one person, showering every other day, you'd probably need to change this filter twice a year. You'll be able to tell when it needs to be changed as your scalp won't feel as clean, and your ability to get good bubbles going when you shower will diminish. This has been a game changer for my hair , and you know how us women like to have our hair look nice, as well as feel nice! I am soooo glad I came across this wonderful product! BTW, I have not been asked to give any sort of review, this review is from buying the product myself and having used it for several years. Funnily enough, the other day my nurse in recovery (I had a small surgery) accidentally felt my hair when taking off that silly surgery cap, and she instantly wanted to know why my hair is so soft, feels like baby soft, she said. I immediately told her about this shower filter and she turned around and told the nurse next to her bout it and she came over to feel my hair. While my husband thought it rather odd, I understood. They both planned on buying one immediately upon getting home, the water is that bad in certain places around the DFW area. Please do not ever stop making this as you have a customer for life in me, and now probably these two nurses...lol

Its a good filter, easy to install, made of lightweight plastic (a good thing because it will not make the shower pipe droop down like the old heavy ones did) and it completely eliminates all the smell of chlorine and everyone stopped complaining of dry itchy skin after I installed it. The only tip I should pass along is that the you install a new one, do instal the hose and point the hose at the drain, as close as you can get to the drain) then slowly turn up the water. The first few seconds that the water is running it will throw out some carbon from this filter. The carbon is, of course, completely harmless but its particles are so small that will get trapped in the texture of your shower floor and leave a black mark. It eventually goes away but it might be noticeable to some people. The other tip I can offer is that this is an effective filter but it clogs up easily. There are only two of us that use the one in the master bath and it only lasts 4 months (once it lasted 5 months, I got al excited but the next one only lasted 5 months again). I do wish that it lasted longer because I have having to recycle the perfect shell, but that is a small wish for future versions. I highly recommend this unit if you have excessively chlorinated water in your shower.

I purchased the Aquasauna Shower Filter from Amazon because I heard great things about this product. I received this product on 9/21/2025. Since day one when I installed there has been a small stream of water where the filter screws into the shower portion. Today I put plumbers tape on the threads in an attempt to fix the issue and it did nothing. I checked all the gaskets and it did not visually appear damaged. I made sure it wasnt cross threaded, and it wasn't. Nothing appeared to be cracked or broken. I had taken it off and on about 10 times, to see if I was missing anything, then it snapped at the neck. The part where it meets up with the water outlet. This is very frustrating because I only had their product for a short while. It was working at it should as a filter, but now I have nothing. I have submitted a request to see if they will replace their product, since it is past the 30day return with amazon. If they do, I will update my review. If not then it goes down to a 1 star review and will make sure that no one I know attempts to purchase their product. Update: sent an email to Aquasauna about a replacement part, never heard back from them after two emails sent. Garbage it goes and what a waste of money for me. 1 star product for durability, it leaking and terrible customer service. I would not recommend

Our water is very good but a bit alkaline leaving water scale on the shower and dry itchy skin. Though skeptical of these things I decided to try it. It works well. The shower is staying much cleaner and our skin and hair feel better. I bought the filter only because we really like our shower head. Everything fits up but you have to offset the the hose and body of the filter a bit because of interference. Most existing hose / shower head combos would have this minor problem. Remember that the water has to flow through the filter before coming out the head making the temperature changes longer. Overall I'm pleased.
