I picked this cream up because my arms and legs had patches that were a bit rough and bumpy. After using it for a week the texture has definitely improved and my skin feels smoother. It has a richer feel than typical body lotions but absorbs well enough. Recommended if your skin needs a bit of extra care.

I have never had very good skin - since it has always been acne prone - but I managed to keep on top of it with various products. Then three years ago I was diagnosed with thyroid nodules and hyperthyroidism. I had to have RAI and then developed hypothyroidism. Over this time all hell broke loose regarding my skin. My acne got worse, and I developed KP on my arms and legs with scaly patches, and skin tags (which were removed). I also had Seborrheic Kerastosis and hyperpigmentation on my face and arms. I could never be seen without a thick primer and foundation. I spent a fortune on all the usual "acids" and Ameliorate (for KP) and it just seemed to get worse. Then I found CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream. The reviews looked so good that I optimistically bought the large pot. I can honestly say from the first day I tried it I was very impressed. The KP on my arms and legs and the scaly skin almost immediately started to improve and has now vanished. Although not meant for the face - I tentatively tried it on my SK. As elsewhere it caused no adverse reaction and is slowly reducing that as well, and appears to be helping with the hyperpigmentation too. It is still early days - so I am sure things can only get better. At first I only used it on certain areas of my skin - but because it has proved to be such a great product - I shall now use it more widely over my body to smooth and moisturise. I highly recommend this product to anyone with skin problems.

I bought this hoping it would help the KP on the backs of my arms, and it didn't. They felt a little smoother, but the multitude of red dots remained. I persisted for quite a long time with it too. The cream is excellent for dry skin - I have really dry elbows that nothing has ever touched, but this does an excellent job of keeping them soft and moisturised. The cream is incredibly sticky, even if using just a small amount and for that reason I find myself not using it too often. It's an amazing cream and if it sank in to the skin quickly I would use it all over, every day. But there's been times where I've used it on my arms and legs in the early evening after a shower and have still felt sticky from it hours and hours later when going to bed. But I also felt very moisturised... This isn't the miracle I was hoping for by any means, so on with my search I go. It smells strange, it isnt scentless. It's not a nice smell... But it's not necessarily a bad smell, to me it smells very lightly like jalapenos.. strange!

Noticed I started getting small rough bumps on my skin, but worse on my elbows (keratosis pilaris). Started using this cream and it has really helped in smoothing my skin and the bumps are barely visible. Has also been amazing for my dry skin.

Requires a bit of trial and error. Found that if I didn't use a large amount of product, this would actually further dry out my skin and cause flakiness. Wasn't a big fan of the texture as it's overly thick, which makes it difficult to work with, and ironically, a little dry to the touch. Had better results when I used double the amount I normally would, mixed with a bit of baby oil. After which my skin texture did eventually improve. However, I'd recommend other products on the market with similar active ingredients, especially when considering the size and cost of this one.
