D5 Wrist Dive Computer W/USB Cable White

I switched from my old SUUNTO D4i after it kept up eating batteries. I love this new model, no more batteries, you charge it with usb cable plus there is a clear indication of how many hours you have left on the battery. I use this watch for freediving, so the vibration mode helps so much, half the times I just don't notice the alarm beeping, but with the vibration its harder to miss. I also like the new display. and the fact that all my dives get synced to my phone after the dive so I can go through them after and analyze is amazing - a great buy!

Easy to set up, read the screen underwater, link to laptop and it's rechargeable.

Here’s the basics: The screen is bright and easy to see. It’s easy to use for diving. Very simple yet feature packed - you can add integrated air! It syncs with an app on your phone for easy access to diving data. You can plot the temperature and everything. It can be a smart watch to receive text messages and notifications from your phone. It’s a great balance of size where it’s easy to push the buttons with gloves on, and it’s almost not too crazy to wear on your wrist as a watch.

Bought this at my local dive shop not on Amazon. This computer seems ok but it doesn't get nearly as bright or as black as the Teric. If you can spend the extra $400 I say buy the Teric instead. This picture is on "very low" brightness. I suggest keeping it on this setting as the battery dies really fast on anything else. Also it doesn't get much brighter, just washed out. Shearwater is coming out with a cheaper alternative to the Teric early January called the Tern. If you can wait I'd buy that instead. It has the same bright AMOLED screen. We're going to the Maldives December 1st so it wasn't an option for us.

I was a tad skeptical of the display prior to purchase but bit the bullet anyway as it has all the features important to me. The display is really rather good and I need not have been concerned (However, I live and dive in the Cayman Islands so am a little spoilt with visibility even at depth.)
