The Best Value Kegerator: So Good You’ll Lose Sleep Craving Another Pour
When I initially considered investing in a kegerator for my personal use, I had my sights set on the K309 model due to its reputation for deep chilling capabilities and its widespread popularity among home brewers and enthusiasts. The advanced features it boasted seemed ideal for my intentions, particularly for ensuring that each pour would be consistent and satisfyingly cold. However, after giving it more thought and weighing the options, I decided to go with the Z163 unit instead. This choice, in hindsight, turned out to be far more rewarding than I had anticipated in terms of overall performance and quality. The Z163, while perhaps not as widely heralded as the K309, offers a feature that proved to be a game-changer in my experience: the cooling tower. This component, often overlooked in less robust units, plays a crucial role in preserving the integrity of every single pour. With the tower consistently cooled, there is a noticeable reduction in foaming and temperature fluctuation, which are often the culprits behind a less-than-satisfactory pour. The significance of this feature cannot be overstated. For any beer enthusiast who appreciates a properly poured pint, the cooling tower elevates the experience from something merely functional to something exceptionally refined. During the setup process, I referred to various sources that suggested the optimal regulator pressure should be set between 10 to 12 PSI. This is a fairly standard recommendation across the board, and I initially followed suit. However, after testing this range, I quickly encountered an issue with excessive foaming. Each pour came out with too much head, compromising the texture and clarity of the beer. Recognizing this problem, I decided to adjust the PSI slightly downward, settling at a range between 8 and 9 PSI. This small but significant change made all the difference. The beer now pours cleanly, with just the right amount of carbonation and head, preserving both taste and presentation. Though I am now more than satisfied with the quality and performance of the Z163, I have chosen to take it a step further by ordering a new dual-output regulator. This upgrade is not out of necessity but rather foresight. The ability to maintain two separate PSI settings simultaneously is invaluable for someone who, like myself, enjoys running different styles of beer, such as an IPA and a Lager side by side. Each style requires slightly different carbonation levels to truly bring out its distinct profiles. With the dual regulator, I will not have to compromise one beer’s quality for the other’s. Instead, I can ensure that each keg receives the precise pressure it needs to maintain its integrity from the keg to the glass. In reflection, what began as a deviation from my original plan has turned into an unexpectedly gratifying experience. The Z163 not only met my expectations but quietly exceeded them, showing me that sometimes the less-hyped option can outperform in ways that truly matter. The combination of practical features like the cooling tower, pressure adjustment flexibility, and now the anticipated regulator upgrade has given me a setup that speaks to both performance and precision.

The flimsiest nastiest misfit malfunctioning disaster of a product
The product is totally false advertised. It’s unbelievable how bad of a design it is. Nothing fits, nothing works, just a poor quality piece of metal that keeps flooding my floor with an overwhelming amount of water and just doesn’t want to work at all. It has been more than a month and I cannot return it. Now I have to throw this piece of junk away at my own cost. Mind you I paid almost one thousand dollars out the door for this garbage. I’ve owned 3 kegerators in the past 20 some years, this one is by far the worst junk on this planet. Steer clear!

Best kegerator
This kegerator is great. Air cooled and has a hose from the fan to the tower. Lighting in side also. All the equipment is top quality also. Had a small issue and the company was very responsive. Kayla stayed in touch every day until the issue was resolved. Don’t buy another brand. I love a great responsive company.

Product was great except for one incorrect part, documentation was lacking.
Overall very pleased with the product. Couple of reasons for the lack of a fifth star. First, the documentation was horrible and confusing. We had track down online instructions to assemble it and had to resort to a YouTube video from a college kid to see how to actually tap the keg. Then there's the piece that holds the C02 tank inside of the kegerator. You are supposed to be able to fit it over two washer-like mounts, but either the washer was too big or the holes in the metal holder were ever so slightly too small. We had to unscrew the washer-mounts and reattach them to make it work. Finally, the hose clamps were too small and unusable. We contacted tech support at Kegco and they were very professional and helpful and are sending out the correct clamps.

Hard pass, not worth the asking price.
Pros: Showed up with everything needed to setup Tank looks awesome Cons: Showed up with the top all scratched up and partially completed. Had to take the lid off to finish drilling it out. Expensive for the quality and fit and finish. Conclusion: Should have done more research and gone with a better dollar/quality one.

Product is great, shipping was a nightmare
THe product is great, but whoever delivered the package was not careful with it at all. It showed up broken inside the box so I had to return it. The replacement they sent was almost as banged up but I was sick of waiting so I just hammered out the giant dent in the bottom of the unit and it seems to be working fine now.
